Please read! I was unsure whether or not to write this review. Our lonely planet book recommended staying at this hotel, so we booked it without much hesitation. It is very close to the boat dock, which made it very easy to arrive in town and facilitate a same day tour. However, when we got in the room, the toilet clogged immediately. When we tried to leave the room, the door knob was broken and we couldn’t exit. I had to yell for help and the staff had to free us. We changed rooms and promptly left for the 2 hour plus Sumidero tour. We stayed the night and everything was fine, the staff were friendly and we felt safe in the room. Here is the kicker. The next day, I went to retrieve my cash from my bag and noticed that I was missing all of it - pesos and American cash. I have reason to believe I was robbed in this hotel while I was gone on the boat tour. Take this as you will but I would reconsider staying at this hotel. Book a day tour from San Cristobal instead.

Rooms were better than we expected. Food and drinks were good. Finally on the day we checked out we had great service during breakfast, I wish I would have asked the young women’s name, she was training a young man, they both were great. Great location for touring the town, excursions and airport. Parking wasn’t included or available through the hotel however there was plenty of safe street parking near the hotel. WiFi is not available however our cellular service was great. A/C was a must during our visit and worked well.

I was terribly lucky to find this place. I was set to fly out of Tuxtla in the middle of the night, when i received a head injury, and instead went to the hospital. The hotels location is perfect. The staff is great. There is a Walmart next door over. It’s been a pleasant, clean, modern place to recuperate for a couple days. Muchas Gracias Tuxtla Junior Express.

I arrived late after midnight but the check-in process was really smooth. I appreciate the front desk staff stayed up till late for my check-in. The room is spacious and spotless clean! I did not drive but my room has a parking lot outside as well. The only minor issue is the AC is a little loud. Staff are really friendly & helpful to me (non-Spanish speakers), I really appreciate! Bus Terminus is not far from the hotel location.

Nice Colonial town with a nice central plaza and Mercado to get a nice affordable meal all day. Quiet and apart from the Sumidero tour not much else to do except buy trinkets up and down the old arcade stores.

The hotel was ok but on arrival we paid 200 pesos more than it was listed on booking because of service charges. Afterwards I noticed it was mentioned in the email after making reservations however I believe such misleading should not happen. If I knew the final price from beginning I could choose cheaper or nicer place.
Absolutely charming house with beautiful courtyard, comfy hammock, well equipped kitchen and lovely bedrooms in the heart of Chiapa de Corzo. We loved our stay and would recommend Casa Cristal to anyone!

Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was good and the pool bar and snack stand was open at night.

Small Hotel right at the main Market-Street and close to the river and boat tours. Clean Bathroom, nice staff. The entry gate is locked all the time which ads to the extra safe feeling.
