The guesthouse had a relaxing atmosphere The staff were fantastic. Great attitude. Helpful and always available. The bed was super comfy. Room is very clean. Tea and coffee available 24 hours. Beautiful beach is walking distance(5-10 min walk)Both check-in and check-out ( transfer from/to airport by boat) were professionally handled and easy. Everyone thinks Maldives is a very expansive place, but I can say it is completely wrong they have budget holiday packages, so you can visit Thoddoo Island big green island, definitely we will come back to thoddoo island and I recommend THODDOO ISLAND HOLIDAY INN this is newly opened hotel in a nice location

Of all the islands we visited during our Maldives vacation, we enjoyed Thoddoo the most. The under water life was amazing and much more alive compared to the other islands.
The big negative about Thoddoo is that it's overrun by war-supporting russians.

The island has beaches, of which we used only one - sunset...
The island has beaches, of which we used only one - sunset beach. Beautiful place. During our stay the weather was great and the beach was beautiful where you can buy fruit from the local farms that make up half of the island. It tastes great. There are agencies on site that will organize a trip to see manta rays, diving, or dolphins for you.
Something about the negatives... The island is experiencing a construction boom and the number of tourists will increase extremely fast. The biggest problem I have seen is waste management, which is solved by burning waste in one very ugly place in the corner of the island. I assume it's the same with waste water. It is a tax for tourism and an increase in the number of visitors. If the Maldivian government does not do anything about this, over time the Maldives will lose its beauty and drown in garbage and polluted water.
Anyway, our vacation was wonderful and I would love to repeat it at this place.

Amazing inhabited island!!
Amazing inhabited island!! There are very beautiful beaches, and the underwater life abounds. Colorful fish, peaceful turtles, agile rays, interesting moray eels. There are beautiful gardens and plantations, with very hardworking workers who like to talk to strangers and give you coconuts and melons. Relax Residence's restaurant is amazing!! The food is varied and tasty. Perfect choice!!

It is a nice Island not so far from Male (1 hour by speedboat). The island has his own life, in this time is not "typical" tourist destination, but there are more new building, which will serve in future as a hotel. There are 2 bikini beaches, one small, rocky and one large, Thodoo beach which is nice with white sand and palms, shallow water and turquise color sea. The willage people are friendly and helpfull. The prices are normal. Becasue Moslim community, no alcohol is available. Only beer 0,00% :-) . There are more restaurants and bars (village standard), but eith good and inexpensive food. On the island is a great fruit farm, so buy fruits (banan, papaya, passion fruit, melone, coco) is no problem, to the end on the beach, too. In time of our stay there was a lot of moskitoes, but at afternoon and night use of reppelent is recommended.

Thoddoo is really great island to stay at Maladives, once you're organizing trip at your own. There is great variety of hotels, restaurants and shops, but what is the most important really long and clean beach for tourists with sports' equipments for rent. Thoddoo island ensures constant resource of fresh fruits, so its really great opportumity to eat and drink juices all the time :-) Besides water activities like snorkling on your own anf observing turtles and big fishes, each hotel offers bikes and there are plenty of roads to ride through island!
