The location of this guesthouse is just about 3-4 mins walk away from the main harbour, making my it very convenient. The staff especially, Wilson was super helpful and so polite. Another convenience is they add you to a group which has constant updates about drive and snorkling trips and they are there to ensure you have the best experience. Had a lovely peaceful time during my stay.

Biosphere Inn, hotel in Maalhos

Featuring free WiFi and a barbecue, Biosphere Inn offers pet-friendly accommodations in Dharavandhoo, 9.9 mi from Baa Atoll.

I recently stayed at biosphere inn and had a fantastic experience. This has been by far my best stay in terms of hospitality. Special shoutout to the hotel manager John he contacted me post booking and was always there to reply on WhatsApp for any query. He booked my return flight domestic ticket from male to dharaavandho without any advance just on sheer trust, when we arrived at airport we was there to pick us up. The first day he took us on the golf cart and gave the island tour. Everyday whenever we stepped out he was there to drop us and pick us up even if we didn't ask him. We are vegetarian so he always made sure to add a good vegetarian dish in the breakfast, he gave us free snorkelling gears, bicycles. The rooms were cleaned everyday and were very spacious ,got unlimited water . Every room already had universal adaptor. One very special mention about John we had our return flight to male at 7 am and we had to leave by 5:30 am for the airport he made sure to pack our breakfast by 5:00 am and dropped us , I have never seen any hotel doing that. They also provide a snorkelling excursion at a good price the owner himself is a guide , we went for Whale Shark snorkelling at night for 40$ per person where as for the same thing other shops had asked 80$. We also went for manta ray snorkelling with them and they were always the first one to reach since they had their own boat and they usually took 6-7 people it is very good for those who want to avoid crowds.

This is a small local island. It’s quiet and simple.

This is a small local island. It’s quiet and simple. The people are friendly. The beach and the sea is beautiful. There are a few restaurants on the island. We have limited choice on food. We recommend the restaurant called Moonshell as it provides more international food and the price is reasonable. There is another cafe near the pier where we can eat local Maldivian food. The cafe is popular among locals. The island is very close to the Manta point called Hanifaru Bay. We recommend this manta excursion as this is a wonderful once in a lifetime experience. It is convenient to bring cash and exchange some Maldivian money to spend and pay for the meals.

A local island so don't expect the resort life - the beaches...

A local island so don't expect the resort life - the beaches look picture perfect, but the streets are full of trash. You can experience and learn about the local lifestyle, traditions etc. which is a big plus in my opinion. I read that the house reef is one of the best in the Maledives and I can absolutely vouch for that.

Maalhos is a beautiful island surrounded by white coral...

Maalhos is a beautiful island surrounded by white coral beaches. It has a forest full of palms and tropical trees and plants. If you visit it in the evening, use mosquito repellent. Local villagers are nice and friendly. There is a bikini beach with sun beds and amazing access to turquoise colour water. Beaches are white sand and on several parts of the island you can find corals and shells on the beach. There is a diving center, you can rent a water scooter or go for a snorkeling trip. Snorkeling was an amazing experience. We saw tropical fish, sting rays, corals and big turtles while snorkeling. We went for a dolphin watch and saw dozens of dolphins swimming and jumping in the sea. There is an isolated island close to Maalhos with beautiful turquoise lagoons. Unfortunately there was also quite a lot of trash when we visited and the forest is full of mosquitoes, so don't forget to take your repellent if you visit. During some months you can watch mantas. We had the luck and the blue bioluminescence plankton 3 or 4 nights on the beach, it was a breath taking experience. We stayed and took breakfast, lunch and dinner in Manta Reserve Hotel, which is the best place to stay in Maalhos. You can walk around the island in 45 minutes.
