The hotel was simply beautiful, from the moment you enter the hotel there is an aroma and smell that I can’t describe. A lovely welcome drink and towels on arrival with staff who are very friendly and accommodating.
We booked an ocean view suite which was luxurious. The suite had a large terrace with deck chairs and an outdoor bathtub. I wish we could have stayed in this room for longer- it was simply amazing. The room was very clean and room service was great.
We had dinner at the restaurant- Inti on our last night in Mauritius. This meal was delicious and the restaurant staff, including manager Yasir, were very helpful and accommodating. An unforgettable meal.
The beach was perfect for our toddler. We loved spending hours here as the beach is perfectly level and shallow. Water activities (including snorkelling, paddle boats) are included with the booking which was an added bonus.
The breakfast was delicious with good variety of food choices (including ice cream which our toddler loved)!

The size of the apartment, for just two people was amazing. I believe it was the three bedroom apartment, where they just locked off the other two rooms (as we only booked one room). The pool itself was lovely.

So, let's start with what we liked. I know that the propriety has only a few reviews, so I will try to be as detailed as I can, so you can understand what you book.
✨ We stayed in Unit 2 (from the photo that you see when you open this propriety). It is an apartment with 3 rooms. The space is big.
✨ We liked that the bedroom had air conditioning.
✨ There are 2 tables. One is in the kitchen and one is outside the kitchen.
✨ A very large garden and if you come by car, you can park the car in the garden, so you will be sure that nothing will happen to the car.
✨ Everything was very clean.
✨ The lady that brought us the key and the landlord were so nice and tried to make our stay as pleasant as possible.
✨ It is right near a beach. You have to walk for like 1 minute. Just pass through the parking of the beach and that is it.
✨ The beach is also quiet. Every time we were there, we saw just a few people just walking by.
✨ It is really close to Cap Malheureux (10 minutes by car) and Pereybere beach (I think we made it around 15 minutes). Pereybere beach is my 2 favourite beach on Mauritius (1 is Le Morne) and we visited a lot of beaches.
✨ There is a fridge and a lot of things that you can use to prepare food.
✨ The bed was comfortable and the bedroom was nice.
✨ Also, there is an outside shower. We used it a couple of times for washing our feet after we came from the beach and it is comfortable, cause you don't make dirt in the house.
I think it is great for couples and families with kids.

Absolutely beautiful - couples can enjoy as well as families. Lots of activities. Calm and relaxing. Excellent choice of restaurants - Bodrun Blue is delicious and has a wonderful view. Inta is Peruvian fusion with excellent caliber products. The creole smoke house is excellent for sampling local food. We were not really impressed with the burger shack and the hailed crab burger was too fried and overpriced. Very kind staff. Spa also excellent. Delicious homemade ice cream stand also a plus. The whole resort was beautifully conceived and the location just gorgeous.

Grand Gaube is rather quiet and not a fancy place. Not too much bars or restaurants . To be honest, only one was open :). Suits perfectly to those who prefer to spend time and relax in villa, not in some noisy bar.

The good : beautiful property.
The good : beautiful property. The attention to detail with their architecture , interior design and landscaping is brilliant.
Amazing food and service at Inti (Peruvian restaurant) , a must try. Pricy but worth it.

Nespresso machine in the rooms was a nice touch.
The not so good : check in was chaotic. No one approached to ask if we were checking in. We had to look for someone. The whole process took too long and we weren’t even offered a welcome drink. The reception is painfully understaffed.
Concierge took ages to bring our suitcases to the rooms.
Breakfast was good but the service was not 5 star. Aimless waiters , lifting crockery without trays , tables without cutlery or salt & pepper grinders , coffee sometimes took ages to come.
Hot items at the breakfast buffet were always cold.
We wanted to use the bath tub but water was tepid at best - even in the shower the water was never hot.
Mini bar wasn’t cooling properly. We asked for it to be checked but this wasn’t done.
The beach around the hotel is artificial and the lagoon isn’t the prettiest in Mauritius.
Palm court bar had very slow and haphazard service. Dirty tables and chairs. Some cocktails were watered down.
The hotel should have better uniforms for the staff - they were dressed in what looked like hospital scrubs - some waiters wore trainers - it looked too casual for a 5 star resort.
Lots of room for improvement.
