Blue bay is perfect for a typically Mauritian beach holiday. There are no large shops or fancy restaurants. There is a shopping centre a short ride away, but in general this is a quiet area, which is exactly what we wanted. It was our fifteenth, yes 15th visit to Le Peninsula Bay hotel, and it is perfect for our needs. The hotel is not a 4 or 5 star, but a very good 3 star. Most rooms have sea views. Try the Ocean View rooms. Really worth it.

Excellent beach.
Excellent beach. Lots of outdoor options -- boat trips, SCUBA, snorkelling, wildlife tours. The Bougainville Restaurant was superb.
The nearby BoVallon Shopping Centre was new, and a great place to shop.

Near the Air Port. Excellent shopping Mall. Great local markets. Many good (local) restaurants. Great diving spot.
Driving in Mauritius is a challenge. Although they drive on the left (Like in South Africa) the roads are mostly very narrow. Motorists stop on these narrow streets to pop into a shop. You have to find a way around them. The M2 highway is a very good road, but full of roundabouts. Every 3,4 Km there is a roundabout.

The village is quit silent and there are not so many people.
What is little bit disadvantage, there is just one small shop and only about three restaurants. If you are looking for night life is better to go to the flic flac resort. But we were very happy about staying in Blue Bay.

What an amazing place to stay and the locals where very friendly and always willing to assist when needed. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys snorkeling. Just remember when you go to take your snorkels and shoes to go into the sea. This was a beautiful and amazing holiday with so much beauty.

The hotel itself (both interior and exterior) is veeeery nice - warm pool, kitchen with tools, just like 30 steps to the Blue bay beach! Room was spatious, clean, fully equiped room kitchen. Nice and helpful host. We stayed only for 1 night (Airport is very near).
Gino and other staff friendly and helpful. Stored my luggage after checkout until flight. Room and bathroom very clean and fresh. Breakfast good.50m from Blue Bay beach.
