No ATM to draw cash.. most shops only deal with cash. Blue bay has a bus stop that takes 15 minutes to get to Mahebourg from where you can take a bus to any part off the Island. The Blue Bay Beach has absolutely clear and still water making it a wonderful experience just to laze in the Water

We had the privilege of visiting and staying in Blue Bay, and it was an incredible experience. Villa de Alisha holiday house was absolutely fantastic! Each room was equipped with its own bathroom, making it both convenient and private. The house was spacious, well-stocked with all the necessary cutlery and linen, and featured air conditioning in every room—a much-appreciated bonus in the warm climate. The highlight, however, was the indoor swimming pool, which added an extra touch of luxury. The only thing you need to arrange is your own food, as everything else is provided. Conveniently, there’s a shopping mall nearby with a large food court and various other shops. The restaurants in the Blue Bay area were another highlight of our trip. The staff at every venue were incredibly friendly, and there was a wonderful variety of food options to choose from. The Blue Bamboo restaurant, in particular, stood out with its vibrant atmosphere, making it a memorable spot for visitors. The flea market was another standout experience. It’s a pity it’s only held once a week, as there was such an incredible variety of items to choose from. I wish I had known this beforehand—I would have stayed much longer than just an hour! Getting around the island was also very convenient, thanks to the bus services available. Public transportation made exploring the island much easier and more enjoyable. Transportation overall was seamless, thanks to a reliable driver who was just a WhatsApp message away. He promptly picked us up from the airport, took us around the island, and ensured a smooth journey back to the airport at the end of our stay. One of the best parts of our trip was the Catamaran excursion. The crew was absolutely hilarious and kept us entertained throughout, making it an unforgettable adventure. Our time in Blue Bay and at Villa de Alisha was truly magical, and we can’t wait to return!

Blue bay is perfect for a typically Mauritian beach holiday. There are no large shops or fancy restaurants. There is a shopping centre a short ride away, but in general this is a quiet area, which is exactly what we wanted. It was our fifteenth, yes 15th visit to Le Peninsula Bay hotel, and it is perfect for our needs. The hotel is not a 4 or 5 star, but a very good 3 star. Most rooms have sea views. Try the Ocean View rooms. Really worth it.

Excellent beach. Lots of outdoor options -- boat trips, SCUBA, snorkelling, wildlife tours. The Bougainville Restaurant was superb. The nearby BoVallon Shopping Centre was new, and a great place to shop.

Blue Bay is a good location, but it is very windy. (September) Near the Air Port. Excellent shopping Mall. Great local markets. Many good (local) restaurants. Great diving spot. Driving in Mauritius is a challenge. Although they drive on the left (Like in South Africa) the roads are mostly very narrow. Motorists stop on these narrow streets to pop into a shop. You have to find a way around them. The M2 highway is a very good road, but full of roundabouts. Every 3,4 Km there is a roundabout.
