Gzira is great, it's almost Sliema. Lots of shops restaurants and hotels. In years to come it will be evolving into an even more popular destination. It's more of a spring /summer destination.

Our apartment was as shown in the pictures. The apartment was freezing cold when we arrived and the only option for heating is a/c in the two bedrooms. No heating in the living room/kitchen and toilets/bathroom. There is a tiled floor throughout the apartment, which makes it cold for the feets. Upon request, we were provided with an electric radiator, but were also made aware that we would have to pay for the electricity that was in addition to the daily quota. The pillows in the bedrooms were hard and round, cylinder-shaped, approx. 20 cm high and filled with pieces of foam rubber. These types of pillows are only for decoration and not for sleeping. Furthermore, there were no bedside lamps in the bedrooms, only a very harsh white ceiling light. A small investment in bedside lamps and pillows can make a big difference. Communication with the host's staff was quick and pleasant. Please note that it can be very difficult to find free parking spaces in Malta.

Location is superb. Close to transit points. Excellent proximity to restaurants, souvenir hunting, tours, and grocery shopping. I will return. TD3 bus service available to /from airport. Lovely walk access to Valetta, as are many bus routes. Highly scenic with the boats, water, lights of Valetta.

We stayed in II-Gzira for economic value and bused into Valletta two days and two nights for tourist attractions and the Christmas market/Experience. We also did Marsalokk and Rabat/Mdina. It's a nice neighbourhood with busy seafront restaurants and takeaways etc.

Pretty close to Sliema but without the whole hustle of the tourists around, this was deffinitely a plus for us. It seems close to Valletta but with public transport it takes 25mins because there are a lot of stops. If you want to go anywhere in Malta by bus you have to go to Valetta first which makes the trip even longer. Unfortunatelly there aren’t many big supermarkets nearby.

Very busy and touristy towards Sliema but quiet in the opposite direction. Great location for getting buses around the island. Very easy to get to Valetta - skip the queues for St John's Cathedral and go to the Lascaris War Rooms and St Elmo's Fort instead. Much quieter. Recommend Bus Stop Cafe in Il-Gzira (it's where the locals go) and Mamma Mariella's for dinner if you like Italian (Carbonaro was particularly good). Manoel Island is great to walk round and good secluded swimming from the rocks.
