Gallo House, hotel in Cospicua

Boasting city views, Gallo House provides accommodation with a shared lounge and a balcony, around 2.2 km from Rinella Bay Beach.

A bit tricky to find because the location isn't indicated well on either Google maps or Apple maps. Luckily, Luke (the owner) came to the rescue. Luke is very helpful and goes above and beyond!

Cospicua is a lovely location if you are looking for the traditional Malta. I honestly thought this Malta didn't exist anymore, what with the massive development that has gone on elsewhere. But it's not a sleepy backwater. There's plenty of good quality restaurants and bars and quite a few of those are at excellent harbourside locations. It's also super easy to get to Valletta on the ferry. They are frequent and very good value.

We thought the location of Cospicua was good with the Ferry to Valetta just a short walk away . It is much quieter than the hustle , bustle of Valletta but found the Museums in the 3 Cities most interesting . The Enchante Restaurant was very good , the best food around !

We were spoilt for choice on places to dine in the area within a short walking distance, Ferry to Valletta just over the road, five minutes, buses at the bottom of the steps almost, as was the marina. We were lucky to experience a church fiesta while there, spectacular fireworks, music and lighting on the church.

Cospicua has so much to offer in terms of exploring and history, but the highlight for us was the passenger foot ferry to Valletta which provides car free access to the vibrant capital city, all the history, churches, culture, shopping, historic palaces and nightlife you could wish for. The last ferry back was at about 11:30pm (summer schedule) and we were out till then most nights! The Three Cities are a little window into old Malta, where traditions, religious celebrations and village life is still very much in place. We enjoyed watching the festa, the fireworks, procession and the local band playing in the piazza. We found everyone we encountered friendly and helpful and we loved exploring the area.

    Really practical location.

Really practical location. The water taxis run very regularly and often include a free pass to the list up to the gardens in Valletta. All day return pass lasts all day and you often get a down lift pass free too. Buses, careful as return often is only valid for a short time. Location is ideal as 5 mins to water taxi, lots of restaurants and bars, mini supermarket etc. Lots of buses run through the area so can save on crossing to Valletta bus station. Ensure you walk right to the end of the pernisular facing valletta going through another lovely stone gate.

Its exactly what it says 'on the tin'.

Its exactly what it says 'on the tin'. A boutique hotel in a lovely building in a great location. The added bonus is the rooftop pool and terrace with wonderful views across Valletta Harbour. We didn't try to drive to the hotel and park as its well known that parking in Valletta is a nightmare so the hotel manager arranged for us to be picked up at the airport (where we left our hire car) and dropped back by the same driver early the next day to catch our flight home. We didn't have time for breakfast but the staff were helpful and communication with the hotel was very good.
