Interesting city, starting to have more life to it these days and still looking impeccably clean and well taken care of. The local population are friendly to foreigners and very welcoming. Small selection of good restaurants and bars for the evenings, plenty to see and do in the daytime.
Well worth setting aside a few days to visit the city and experience the capital of Myanmar.

I love the hospitable and helpful people in Nay Pyi Taw.
I love the hospitable and helpful people in Nay Pyi Taw. I felt safe even when I was travelling alone at night. The climate at night was very pleasant. However, most of the people could not speak English and halal restaurants were very limited.
Things were not very cheap either.
I would recommend Jasmin restaurant at Pyinmana that served boneless fish and many other HALAL dishes. Please also visit the Gem Museum; Army Museum, Fountain Park and Myoma Market. Capita Mall and Ocean Supercentre offee a good selection of food and shopping.

You don't miss anything if you haven't been here.
You don't miss anything if you haven't been here. Naypyidaw isn't a ghost town as often stated on blogs that probably haven't been here. There is a pagoda that isn't crowded and with a nice view over the surroundings so that's nice but you will probably have to take a taxi driver since the hotel zone is somewhat far away (and Taxis are quite expensive just to let you know). The water fountain parc is okayish but as for the city you haven't missed anything if you weren't here. There is also a local market that's nice. For a restaurant tip there is a cafe called dream coffee which also serves vegetarian food and the staff is really friendly and speaks good english. If you want to have a layover on the way to Mandalay then staying here is okay otherwise don't. Just my plain opinion.

It was the best hotel we’ve stayed at, truly especially for the price. Staff went beyond what was expected of them. Other hotel guests seemed to be important government and UN workers so y’know it’s top notch. I wish we could’ve stayed longer and we definitely want to return one day 🙏
