It is a good budget hotel. The receptionist was friendly, & helpful when we asked for restaurant suggestions for dinner. The location was quite central, so we could walk to the nearby square for dinner. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, & the bedlinen was fresh. Breakfast was good. Check-out process was smooth.
Located on Trebjesa Mountain, just above the city of Nikšić, Hotel Trebjesa is surrounded by mountains and pine forests. The on-site restaurant features traditional and international specialties.
Hotel Marshal is situated in Nikšić and features a bar. Featuring a shared lounge, the 4-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom.
Not much to see in the city itself. I enjoyed a train trip followed by a long walk to the Ostrog monastery, plus a short walk around the local monuments in Niksic. Staying here is more comfortable and cheaper than e.g. in Podgorica.
If you do not have a car, then it may be more practical for you to stay in Podgorica, because most other places of interest in Montenegro (such as Budva or Kotor) are better accessible from there.

It can be hard to find a lot of things to do here once you...
It can be hard to find a lot of things to do here once you spend a day walking around the town and visit the lake for a few swimming sessions, but if you enroll in the language school then it becomes much more enjoyable. The air quality is a little bit poor, as there are a lot of smokey cars, although it's very beautiful if you take a trip out into the mountains and well located for travel to other parts of Montenegro. Public transport is inexpensive, so staying in Niksic can work well if you're on a budget and want to take day trips to see the whole of the country. Everyone was very pleasant to me here, and you can make friends - especially if you make an effort to speak the language.

No nonsense town with attractive square a lots of cafes and bars. Lively night life. Drink easier to find than food and quite a lot of fast foos/pizza options. Has some medeival fortifications which are rather untended. Close enough to the famous Ostrog Monastery (1/2 an hour) for a day trip if you have a car. The 'Boulangerie' near main square is a good place for breakfast and light lunch options

Unfortunately we stayed only one night on our long way home. It is the closest town to the Ostrog monastery and a great starting point to discover Durmitor national park. We had an excellent traditional dinner in a local reataurant.

An undiscovered gem in the heart of Montenegro. You should definitely come and discover all the charms that this wonderful city has to offer. The food is fantastic with affordable prices, the service is phenomenal and the people are very nice and accommodating. The nature is untouched, lakes are amazing, history is very interesting.

We stayed there for 6 nights. The apartment was simple and without frills, but big enough for a family with 2 adults and 2 children. It's located in a quiet neighborhood of the city, but at the same time you are close enough to the center and all what you can need (markets, pharmacy and restaurants included). It's the right basecamp for visiting Nikšić and the surroundings. The hosts (a couple) don't speak English, but they are very nice and they will do all what in their capabilities to make you feel welcomed and at home.
Our hosts were wonderful. They were so welcoming, they couldn't have been more helpful and generous.
The house was lovely with everything required for our stay. The area is quiet and there is a little supermarket nearby and a bakery with delicious bread and cakes. We spent 4 days there relaxing and visiting the area around Niksic.
A big thank you again to our hosts for a wonderful stay.
The first advantage is that accommodation was provided, as opposed to the Apartman Panorama Niksic, who had refused my reservation on the day of arrival. The second advantage is a clean and light apartment, where is everything for the convenient staying. And finally, the pleasant host, who takes up his duties very professionally. Thank you very much for the stay!
The hotel is very modern. It is in a rather remote place but with historical meaning, and the hotel menu tells the fascinating story of the region. Otherwise the rooms are good and are well-equipped and the hotel restaurant is good and serves local food. A very country feeling.
Everything was great and it all was as described. The place was easy to find and the host is very pleasant and kind. I can only recommend everyone to book this apartment if you are passing through Nikšić.
