The owner and his son are most helpful. The son personally drove me to the bus station when the taxi he called for me failed to show up. Also, the hotel room is clean and spacious. It's located right next to the Palace of Culture, a good, quiet location.

We liked space and flexibility of the staff... i made a mistake while booking but they were willing to cancel an extra room without charge which was just nice. This was the biggest space we had while travelling through 10 countries. Highly recommend for families with kids.
Staff are a bit shy about speaking English, just use a translator...

I was visiting friends which made my experience different from if I had visited without purpose. Cahul is pretty and is walkable, but there is little in the way of tourism. There are many restaurants and coffee shops. There is a regional museum with dedicated docents and a good curator. There are recreational opportunities outside of the city. Renting a car is suggested. Cahul is a quiet, good-value city to consider as a base to explore the region.
