Conveniently located. Exceptional value. Huge room. Very comfortable bed. Outstanding water pressure in the shower! I would highly recommend this property. Better than my airbnb in Riga!

This is one of those exceptional apartments where there are no words to adequately describe it. Super clean with sufficient amenities and perfect location. The onsite parking is a plus. The Host was on the property regularly so if you needed anything she was there to help out. We would go back in a heartbeat.

Laundry to wash clothes was nice, but the dryer did not dry. No big deal.
The room was quiet and comfortable. A nice shower and bathroom. Comfortable bed except: The Booking writeup brags about the 6 1/2 foot bed. Great for my long legs but even though the bed was 6 ft, the comforter was not.

Sigmund and his daughter are wonderful hosts! The property is even nicer than it looks in the photos. Sigmund even took us to play tennis. Fantastic host with a beautiful cottage and gardens. Highly recommended.

The castle in the town centre is a must to visit. You are given a candle in a lantern to see round the dark passage ways.
We took a bus the the Eagle Cliffs and walked in the forest.
Zala Zale does a great burger and chips!

Small and cozy town, beautiful little main street, very impressive castle ruin with medieval-inspired activities and wonderful nature trails just in reach out of town. The new castle was nice, but not exactly a highlight, but just a few kilometers and easily reachable by car or bus, there is an archeological park with a rebuilt lake "fortress" that is definitely worth a visit.
Highly recommended for a short stay if you like nature and a few calm days away from Rīga, as long as you don't seek for any thrilling excitement.

Visiting the historic downtown of Cesis was a delight.
Visiting the historic downtown of Cesis was a delight. Parked for free near the soccer complex, and walked a few short blocks past the independence memorial into the center. Discovered several shops and a diverse offering of cafes along a few pedestrian streets, and more could be found just outside that area. The medieval Castle tour was a highlight. A self-guided tour was plenty informative, with signs in English where needed. The Tower tour was one of a kind and well worth the time: Ascending and descending the narrow stairways and exploring the rooms with your own hand-held candle-lantern was a unique and memorable experience! The manor house exhibits were interesting, but the highlight was again the tower- climb to the top for a birds-eye view of Cesis and surroundings. Once back on the ground, the Palace gardens were beautiful for a stroll or to sit and enjoy the peacefulness. Smaller park Maija nearby was also peaceful and the black swans in the pond were beautiful to watch. Kayak trip and hiking along the Gauja river are a must do as well. Enough English was spoken to make it an easy place to navigate and get any needed assistance.

Cesis is a lovely, picturesque small town with a well-presented castle and ruins. The local businesses were very friendly, and the restaurants served excellent food. We ate at the Sushi restaurant around the corner from the apartment and the Vanadzins Ziemelu restaurant on the main Riga Road, a few steps from the apartment.

Visit cultural landmarks, natural places of interest or an arts festival. Don’t forget to visit Mala cafe bar and art space, Trimpus for local craft beer and Rūsa cafe bar for the best cocktails- all minutes from the hotel.
I liked the old and fancy building and style of hotel. The staff was friendly and location is super confy. They still are under renovatiin, but people were coming just to see old fasion rooms and it feels like you are nobal when you are inside of building.
