The Christmas market had moved from the beautiful town square/hall to a quite ordinary concrete modern square due to major ground works.
Biggish city by some standards - not just the compact old town. Public transport and Bolt taxis are so cheap, reliable and wonderful for getting about.
It was pretty cold, not unexpectedly so in December but it made the trip less pleasant. I’d happily return but in mid-summer.

Pretty town- nice and small but not in a bad way. The castle was a bit far out of town if you’re disabled. It’s also closed sometimes in the Winter at least, so check before you go. The big church on the large pedestrian street was very impressive from the outside but a little underwhelming from the inside. I would have done the ”remaining bits” had I had time. A very pretty town/ city, though. Would highly recommend for that reason. Just don’t expect normal toilets where you can flush the paper down- this was a shock for me!

Great for a city break with plenty to see,, plenty of cafes and restaurants, and great public transport, and if you want you can jump on the train to Vilnius which takes about an hour and a half very interesting place and I'll certainly go back.

The weather was bad so we stayed more in the house.
The weather was bad so we stayed more in the house. However, we went to the pedestrian street and walked around a bit.
We also went into the Gorgian restaurant Mtevani which had nice service and delicious food.

A very beautiful city that is super green and easily walkable. It has very nice restaurants and bars. Bear though in mind that on Mondays all museums and most places of interest are closed. Don't forget to try the local beers and the traditional food.

Amazongly beatiful and youngspirited city with a cozy atmosphere. Seemed to have endless beautiful paths to walk on, interesting boutiques and cafes and lots of displayed art and cultural heritage. Definately want to stay the next visit at least 3 days to explore the city more.

Super cozy apartment, excellent location just in the heart of Kaunas city centre, very secure private parking. Contactless check-in and check-out. Good size hair dryer (!!!) not a tiny travel sized :) well-equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds and especially cozy sofa to watch TV. Highly recommend! Definitely better than hotel. Feel like at home experience.
Fantastic hotel, surprisingly quiet considering it was on one of the busiest streets in Kaunas. The black decor adds a modern vibe to an otherwise old-style building. The location is fantastic for either the Old Town area or the city centre. Staff were very friendly too. All great!
The hotel is next to Laisves Aleja - the main tourist (and not only) artery of the city. The check-in and out was seamless and extremely efficient. I would recomment to take a walk throught the Nemuno Sala (Nemunas Island) which is also very close.
The hotel is a beautiful building in front of the Opera house with access from the pedestrian street in the city centre. The rooms are fresh and wide, with a relative simple style.
