We stayed here for a night and were happy with this place. It’s a very good value stay. Staff were friendly and tried their best to accommodate their guests. They made me egg hoppers even though it was not on the menu. Their egg fried rice and chop suey were good. The property grows their own fruits and they always served us complimentary delicious mango, papaya, banana, pineapple, and watermelon. The breakfast is ala carte set menu, they served a lot of food, so best to tell them what you want and don’t want from the set to not waste the food.
As for the room, it’s decent for the price paid. Mattress and some furniture look new, shower pressure is great, very powerful so adjust accordingly.

The chalet was large, clean, private, with great air conditioning. The pool is clean with nice poolside seating. The staff was incredible. The food was delicious. We stayed only the night before a morning safari, but we would wish we would have booked the night after as well. This was the most relaxing lodging we have found in Sri Lanka. Thank you Kalu!

We had the most amazing dinner here. The hosts cooked a vegetarian meal for us on arrival. The price was so affordable and we have decided it was the best dinner we had in Sri Lanka. The host arranged a second jeep to accompany his jeep to take us on a half day safari. The price was fantastic and he waiting to avoid big crowds, took us to see many birds, crocodiles and elephants with only our jeeps at the sites. He even packed a lovely breakfast with tea which we ate at the waterside. He took us in the evening to see the baby elephants at the orphanage as well. We highly recommend this home!
