A good location for a hassle-free stay in Tanamalwila, Mayka's luxury holiday homes is a guest house surrounded by views of the garden.

Arriving after a long day's travelling, we could not have had a warmer welcome from Mayka and her family. Mayka agreed a short notice to have a meal prepared for our group of 7 at the conclusion of our safari. The cooking was excellent and we enjoyed our pizzas, fresh vegetables and fried rice. Although their restaurant is not licensed, Greshan offered to drive us into the nearby village for us to purchase a few beers to have with our dinner. They fantastic hosts. We had a very special experience the next morning when a cricket game was arranged by Greshan with his son, Brian Lara and our group of children.
With pool views, Tranquil Wild is located in Tanamalwila and has a restaurant, room service, snack bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace.

Great staff, great food (we tried Sri Lankan breakfast and continental breakfast and portions were really big which is great value for money, also had dinner there and again food was very tasty and just the right level of spicy)
We did also a half day safari which I highly recommend… Amal was an awesome guide and we learned a lot from him. Full day safari and other excursions also possible.
We tried the swimming pool which was a godsend after driving and a hot 🥵 day
This place is very handy to visit Yala Park but stay away from the crowd of the main entrance at block 1
We will happily come back.

The staff are so friendly and helpful. They were on hand to provide suggestions on local tours without being pushy. They also went out of their way to make us egg hoppers one day which we were really grateful for. The villa is new and really well furnished with super comfy beds and pillows.

Hotels generally not near any restaurants so confined to your hotel for dining. Would not want more than one or two nights there.
