I guess it depends on the purpose of your visit really, for us it suited our purposes of what we wanted to achieve in the area and that was following our Buddhist faith. The hotel was good, the staff were very helpful. The breakfast was a typical Sri Lankan one, we had an evening meal at a reasonable cost and the food was good.

It was our best accommodation in 4 weeks in Sri Lanka! We stayed in a separated little cottage, was very clean, comfortable bed and pillows, it's situated upon the little rock,so you feel the air, and it was not humid, nice garden and absolutely delicious breakfast ( you can order what you wish) and evening meals at a cosy terrace!! And of course wonderful friendly personal, very helpful and sweet! Also important for travellers- free of charge water bottles and !! making your laundry!!

PS : you can rent the bikes to go to the temples and around the lakes,with we did and liked it so much!

My experience at Hotel 4U Saliya Garden was exceptional. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, always willing to assist with arrangements for tours and tuk-tuk rides at reasonable prices. The food was delicious, and the swimming pool was spacious and well maintained. Guests can also enjoy complimentary access to the billiard table, which is always available. The hotel offers ample parking for vehicles, and the room was clean, comfortable, and equipped with a fully functional air conditioning system. A lot of nature and animals around is the cherry on top

The ancient locations are wonderful, Kaludiya Pokuna highly recommended for meditators, as are all the other locations, except Rajagiri Caves which are not nice at all, avoid the police at all costs, watch out for large vicious dog living in house to the left of large Buddha statue at the town level on promenade before staircase, keep an eye on little ones
