This is an unforgettable experience where you stay inside the donkey sanctuary.
You get to feed, stroke and brush the donkeys here. The sanctuary is located in the midst of nature.
The staff are very friendly and do their best to help you in any way.
The room is comfortable and clean enough, given that this is a working donkey sanctuary.
The manager wasn’t here when I visited so I didn’t find out much information about the sanctuary or taste the home cooked food (which apparently is usually delicious).
However I am very glad I visited and would recommend it to animal lovers.

A lovely home with mango trees and chickens in the front yard. The accommodation upstairs is clean, private, comfortable, and very spacious, with a sitting room, a queen bed and a double bed that can fit two kids or two small adults, an ironing board and iron. But I would come back because of the generosity and hospitality of the hosts, who are a lovely and welcoming family that made us feel like we were at home. They also make really good food and help with any local arrangements.

Mannar is town in the far north-west of Sri Lanka, there are not a lot of "tourist" things to do there. there is an 500-year-old dutch fort that got damaged during the civil war and a big tree. the people are fantastic and very friendly but don't speak as much English as "advertised" shopping is limited but really good value. Mannar is not a tourist town but it is real northern Sri Lanka so if you go there don't expect to be entertained. the food is great but once again it is standard Sri Lanka food there is nothing fancy. there is a western styled place that does pizza and burgers in town and is the most expensive place to eat, yet still is very affordable. Dont expect to find Air Conditioning in any of the stores. Tuk Tu's are always handy to get about town and buses can be caught to go see the sites further a field.
