They’re a really kind family. The food was really good.
The location was beautiful. It’s a nice place to stay. It’s quiet, clean. They gave us some pepper to take back home.
It’s near by a river that you can take a bath. It’s really a nice place to be in immersion with nature. We recommend this place.

Conveniently located in the beautiful Riverston area, this is a simple and clean hotel. The staff is very friendly and is happy to organise local transport. The hikes and views in the area are stunning.
Due to the remoteness of the Riverston region you won't really find any restaurants. Food in the hotel is limited to a few simple options, the same is true for the breakfast, which is more basic than you'll find elsewhere, but prepared with care.

We booked the accommodation at the last minute. It's a lovely place with a beautiful view nestled between the tea fields. The old house is tastefully furnished, with very friendly staff and an excellent kitchen. There is a private waterfall on the estate that is truly worth visiting. We were very satisfied and would return anytime.

We stayed in one of the front rooms, and really enjoyed sitting on the balcony looking out at the mountains. Rawana provided amazing service, very attentive, we had Sri Lankan breakfasts lunches and dinners cooked by his wife which were so delicious- genuinely some of the best food we've had so far. Rawana also took us in his the Tuk Tuk to see the views of lakegala, guided us on a hike to diyakerella Ella falls, and drove us to the sliding rock swimming spot even though it was raining the whole time (4-5h)! Their 3yo son was also very sweet to hang out with.
In terms of prices he charged us 10 000 for the Tuk Tuk and guide, and I think we paid 7-8000 for two dinners and a lunch for two.
The rooms and shared bathroom were basic, clean and comfortable, the beds are a little hard, and there are no sealed windows (but we didn't have any issues with bugs) but none of that is a problem, it's in the middle of a jungle! Definitely recommend!

The room is so spacious and it had stunning views overlooking the mountains. The best part was at night the sky full of stars are at your eye level. I have never seen anything like that! And we rushed to the telescope on the rooftop and saw constellations that you never see through the naked eye! And the weather is so beautiful, chilly and it’s like living through the clouds. The food, the staff are top notch and highly recommend!

Rohana is a nice person, very helpful and social. We had an experience with him as he offered us a ride from Kandy. Overall, the premises have homestay feel (dont expect hotel like stay here).
If you are interested in doing five knuckles hiking, these premises can easily work as a base for that hike. Check Google Maps for: Dawatagala Knuckles Natural Trail.
Keep in mind this place is pretty far from Kandy and if arriving with bus, you should ask for help directly from Rohan. Bus ride from Rohan estate to Kandy took around 2 and half hour. We had to switch bus at Wattegama.
