Everything was perfect and worth every $ I paid. I came from Canada for a vacation and visited Jaffna with my parents for the first time. The staff welcomed us warmly and took care of our luggage. Spacious rooms with all the facilities and others like the gym and pool were also in great condition. We stayed 3 days (2 nights) and there's nothing to complain about.
I highly recommend NorthGate to anyone who is visiting Jaffna for a comfortable stay.

This is a traditional house upgraded with modern facilities. The house is beautiful and the room is well appointed. Since we arrived in the evening we didn't get time to use the pool (which looked quite clean). The breakfast was quite good and fresh.

Tamil culture, heartland of srilanka Tamil culture . Promising upcoming tourist place, pristine as yet unspoilt by hordes of tourists. Very close to south india yet have something unique of its own. Magnificent Hindu temples, beach, bottomless well so many things to see in Jaffna. Must visit Rio icecream near Nallur temple, Jaffna fort, King Sangiliyan statue, 3 kings monument near clock tower and Jaffna public library

Jaffna is still recovering from the impact of the civil war.
Jaffna is still recovering from the impact of the civil war. Tourism has yet to be fully exploited so accomodation choices are not wide. There is the 5 star Jetwing at one end of the scale and small boutique hotels and backpacker accommodation at the other. Jaffna has many attractions including the old Dutch fort, the Jaffna library (limited access) and a number of temples including the archaeological site at Kandarodai. A visit to the islands of Delft and Kayts is also possible, if you have time.
Jaffna has its own distinctive cuisine which is delicious but we warned the heat is dialled up to 11!

Jaffna is a fascinating space in terms of its history and also natural surroundings with its large water bodies and bird life. On this visit (and I have come many times before) we walked around the Catholic and the Jesuit seminary. But there are also the old missionary schools, the Hindu temples, the star fort, the causeways to Kayts and Karainaga.

Jaffna is highly recommendable if you like to see Sri Lanka in a less mainstream tourist way. There is a lot to see, very interesting history and lots of cultural and religious highlights. Go to Nagadeepa and Delft Islabd as well for a day.

Jaffna has always been a lovely place to visit. This time we went to Kayts and saw what was left of the old Fort as well as Hammond Hiel across the water. Went to Point Pedro as well...It was a pity that there was a postbox at the northern most point of Sri Lanka - but no postcards or stamps!!! Seeing flamingos and other migrants across from the causeway to Kayts was a bonus. Food is always great and we would recommend Lavin's for some excellent parathas and paper dosai.

Stayed with My Wife . Food was Excellent The Owner was guided Where we Can Go around also to get a bike 🏍 for Rent he guided throughout the 3 nights . It was our 1st time to travel over there. very good to travel in the train 🚆 to Jaffna and We had The best Moments . Thanks for all your Help .. The hotel was nice, and the staff were very friendly and courteous. They attempted to resolve some of the issues we had staying in the hotel as best as they could. I think this is one of the few hotels in Jaffna with a pool, and even though the pool was small, it was was maintained quite well.
I think it's one of the better hotels in Jaffna, but the price kinda reflects it. The location is near Jaffna town and very convenient. Has a lot of nice restaurants around the hotel.
We spent 3 nights at the Hertiage Hotel and had the best time. The facilities are outstanding, the staff is super nice. Breakfast is superb. Having access to a pool in the heat of Jaffna is priceless. Great vegetarian food options around the corner. Rios Ice Cream is loved by locals and you should try it as well.
Lovely stay in the centre of Jaffna - very convenient location. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the bathrooms seemed newly renovated. We enjoyed the food too- would recommend to those who want to experience Jaffna’s first hotel.
