We were travelling a lot around Sri Lanka, been to Unawatuna, Tangalle. But Hikkaduwa is our favorite. It is a great combo of beach, facilities and infrastructure. And not everywhere you can watch sunset but Hikkaduwa is the perfect place for it.

Hikkaduwa is a charming seaside town with picturesque beach views and a wonderful local vibe. The town offers excellent opportunities for snorkeling and diving, allowing you to explore vibrant coral reefs and marine life. The people are very welcoming, and the town has everything needed for a relaxing getaway. However, keep in mind that the main street can be quite busy and noisy, so I recommend choosing accommodations a bit further from it. Russians have taken over this town. It is a good thing to know before booking. The coastal restaurants and cafes are lovey, and the sunsets are incredible. A day trip to Galle is a good way to spend some time.

A large town with all the facilities you would expect, excellent transport links, plenty of varied beaches. Good road links and plenty of attractions locally and further afield. Moderately priced accommodation with many and varied choices. Extremely helpful and friendly locals. .A good choice for all ages.

Lovely villa in Hikkaduwa. 3km from snorkelling spot, 2.6km from Turtle beach, 1.5km from surfing point. Supermarket right in front in the main road. Loads of great restaurants on the Beach. The in house chef is a very good chef and super friendly and a very nice guy who helped us a lot with transport and tours. The swimming pool was amazing. We also enjoyed the satellite tv as we could watch cricket live. The sunsets and beach is fantastic and we enjoyed the fact that it was a bit quieter than where all the major hotels were.
The pearl Island beach hotel can definitely be recommended.
Everything was very clean, extremely nice staff and our room was very large and well equipped.
The restaurant in the hotel was also really great.
We even had German bread from a nearby bakery for breakfast.
The hotel is right on the beach with a very nice pool.
We would definitely come back.

The location is unbeatable. Just a minute walk walk to the Hikkaduwa beach, bus station and train station. It made exploring the area so easy and stress free.
Hotel is very clean. Huge comfortable beds. The views from the hotel are stunning you cab enjoy the a serene river teeming with wildlife right from the building. The hotel has a sea view too. We will come back.
Coral Sands Hotel was a fantastic place to stay! The location is great and right on the beach with stunning ocean views and within walking distance to great bars and restaurants. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable and cleaned everyday. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay.
