Travelling with two children, the nice big and secluded pool was the biggest asset for us at this place. The family room was big with one large bed and two others beds and still plenty of space.

Lovely family who have a beautiful house in the countryside. It is a little walk out of town but easy to get a tuktuk from the main road.
They gave us a lovely walk around the garden showing us all the fruit and plants they grow.
We also had the best meal of our whole trip in Sri Lanka here for dinner, and two amazing breakfasts.

This hotel was in such a beautiful setting, theyve really made the experience of the hotel almost like a spa! so many plants around that made it so peaceful. the ponds also had a terrapin swimming around!
The pool was also great! We had a late night swim as we arrived quite late.
Mr Silva and Mr Asoka were so friendly and welcoming, they made us some lovely coffee for when we arrived. They also helped us with transport to Lions Rock at very short notice, the breakfast was also super yummy!

We went to this area and stayed at the Cinnamon Habarana Village for 2 noghts. This gave us time to visit Pidirangula the rock opposite Sigiyeria Rock, Polonuwara ruins, Minneriya Safari parks and a couple of village tours to see how locaal live and eat. These village tours I would recommend as you get to try local curries made by the villagers which are authentic.
Pidurangula is the same height as Lions Rock but a quarter of the price. The only thing you miss out on is seeing the ruins at the top of the ancient civilisation.
Minneriya was fantastic. We did this as a last minute decision as we were advised there were more elephants here than in the Yala Safari park which we had already booked to visit in the south. We were so glad we did this as there were plenty of elephants to see and capture on camera.
The ruins around this area are a plenty and definitely worth visiting as they are centuries old and date back to when Buddha came into the country.
When visiting any ruins or temples men musat wear a sarong to cover their knees and women have to cover their shoulders and knees. Wearing t shirts and 3/4 linen trousers are ideal.
We had a private tour guide with his car that we hired for an 8 day tour so he knew where to go, and came with us at each attraction. Would recommend touring Sri Lanka in this manner and using Madhu of Nesi Tours Srilanka. He is able to help with itineraries and pricing. We had a fabulous trip in this beautiful country with

We, a family of 5 (Kids aged 9,5&4), spent two exciting nights at the Mutu Village.
We were welcomed very warmly by the hotel manager Sameera, with whom we already had some great communication thru WhatsApp prior to our arrival. Sameera is an extremely friendly, open-minded person and great to chat with. He and his team took great care of us throughout our stay. We never missed anything and we always felt very welcomed.
As we had just climbed the Pidurangala (must-do!) we were all starving. When I asked for the menu the two guys serving us put up a BIG smile and told us that there was no menu and dinner would be a surprise. And in fact, it was a big surprise when we saw the big pots with fried rice, kottu, dhal curry and chicken. It was very delicious and we ate more than we probably should have. Especially, as there was still dessert to come.
Breakfast, served in a big basket, was fantastic, too: Egg hoppers, sweet bread, toast, a variety of other local specialities and a fruit platter - more than one could possibly eat.
The whole village is in the middle of the jungle with a beautiful, clean pool surrounded by air-conditioned tree houses. Our house was very clean and the mosquito nets over the beds very welcomed by most of the family as there is quite some wildlife going on. The outdoor bathroom was fun, and is to be shared with some other species.
We loved our stay here and we highly recommend it for anyone ready for a little adventure. Thank you Sameera and team for being incredible hosts.

I was absolutely charmed by the 2 nights spent at Villa Habarana.
In the middle of nature, Villa Habarana is a peaceful place. The staff is attentive, smiling and deeply human, ready to fulfil your wishes within their villa.
The rooms are spacious, clean and air-conditioned, opening onto a private terrace with a coffee table and wooden armchairs.
The wifi is very fast, the cooking with the products of their garden is divine. I loved their rice and curry and their fruit juices.
In short, everything is taken care of to perfection from A to Z and revolves around a beautiful pool sheltered by frangipani trees.
I advise all those who will stop in the region of Habarana to contact them so that they can welcome you. You won’t be disappointed !

Great place to take family.
Great place to take family. Good elephant and monkey viewing. Interpretation skills weak with cultural assets and history. Ok food in area but mainly in accommodation providers. Others experiences not well advertised - nature trails, endangered birds, lagoon rides, local cuisine.

They are so lovely and relaxed, and know of all the elefants habits so we got to see so many of them; small and big, and its all happening in their natural and peaceful surrounding! We were there i february when the elefants are in ECO park.

Staff were exceptional! Can not recommend this place enough to stay in Habarana. Really safe and quiet location in a walkable distance to the main centre. Gorgeous outdoor bathroom and incredible comfortable bedroom with air conditioning. Incredibly green and lush surroundings and incredibly accomodating and welcoming staff. I can find no fault with our stay here, we will be recommending to friends and family coming to Sri Lanka. It was a bit tricky to find on google maps but is in the same location as Gabaa resort and spa.
It was our second time in this hotel.
Its one of the best hotels for us in Sri Lanka. We loved it there. All the people who work there are so friendly!! Its so peaceful there.
We made an private afternoon tour to the Nationalpark with Sudath and it was great!!! One of the best things we do in our life!! Thank you so much Sudath for this special Time!

Ruwan and his family/team are great hosts. They organise all you need and more if you have issues (like us with incovenient cash notes, shuttle from the train station, etc.). Would always recommend staying in Visu Villa hotel if one is in the region of Habarana. The food is great as well and always fresh made. The tours are fantastic as well.
Hotel was clean and had a lovely pool area! The staff were exceptionally helpful and couldn’t do enough. They picked us up from the train station and made sure dinner was ready for when we arrived. They also helped sort excursions for us to nearby attractions. Would definitely recommend this hotel!
Breakfast & dinner was excellent. The family who own & run this establishment are super nice people. They are so helpful & accomodating. If you want an authentic experience in the Habarana area you have got the right place!
