The staff were amazing, Jagath the manager was a lovely man and very professional always happy to help. Bhanuka the trainee was a great young man, very friendly and so helpful. I gave him a shirt at the end and he was very happy. Madurange was also very helpful and made our stay so relaxing. Thanks a lot to the wider team it is an amazing place we will definitely be back if we are lucky to come to Sri Lanka again. Also the Food (veg curry) and the room were great (deluxe double). Badminton also fun rackets provided.

Coming to Ella for the first time being shocked by the large amount of bars and restaurants playing loud music which can only be described as Benidorm feel with young backpackers. I can only imagine what it will be like peak season , shame . Do not eat at barcode UFO we ended up getting food poisoning.

Nice town but very touristy. Prices are significantly higher than most of Sri Lanka and there is the constant annoyance of being offered tuk tuks, tours, restaurants, etc when walking down the street.

I think go with the flow is best rather than plan. We did not plan the train ride but was able to get on the train from Demodara to Ella just one stop over the bridge to Ella. Hike to the bridge or take a Tuk to see the trains go past. Halpe Tea Factory visit and for a nice cuppa. Try the Isle of Gelato in town. Plenty of restaurants everything is good. Very safe town, other activity - Zip line, hikes etc. Helpful and friendly people around. Depending on what you want to do 3-4 nights will be fine.

Beautiful scenery, lots of things to explore and a nice buzz in town. We went to see lots of waterfalls and a cooking class in town. Our hotel was about 20 minutes away from Ella which was perfect for the beautiful views of the mountains. We hired a tuk tuk so we were able to get around fine but most hotels have one which you can get a ride in. The 9 arch bridge is a must but do your research on a best route as there are many and some you have to walk a fair way on the train track which isn’t the safest. We used the happy cow app to find vegan food places but our hotel was brilliant at making us delicious food!

Quite a good selection of things to do in Ella, and the train ride from Ella to Badulla was good enough for the photoshoot from the train. The tuk tuk ride back from Badulla to Ella was good. The town had sufficient good restaurants to keep us interested for a couple of days. Would definitely recommend a visit.

This was such a fun place.
This was such a fun place. You can take walks and hikes in nature, and there are so many fabulous restaurants to dine in. I loved the vibe here. In the evenings, a lot of the restaurants had live music, which was thoroughly enjoyable. I can’t recommend Ella enough. I extended my stay by an extra night because I loved it so much!

We booked this place because of the pool and the pool is really great, especially after a hike. The rooms are okay, yet the bathrooms are not very nice and they were not very clean. The staff was okay and breakfast was really good. The owner helped us to organize a shared taxi to our next destination. The hotel is up an steep hill and close to the center of Ella. An okay place to stay in Ella if you want to have a pool, if you prefer an super friendly over-the-top-location you might want to book one of the many home-stays.
An excellent boutique accommodation at Ella. It is nestled in the middle of a tea estate. 20 minutes drive from Ella.
So peaceful and quiet. Beautiful 180° view from room balcony including Ella Waterfall.
Manager Lahiru and his team of staff look after every guests' needs.
All rooms come with tea, coffee making facilities, and bathroom toiletteries are provided.
The infinity pool is located on top of a hill. It's absolutely stunning. Anyone can spend the whole day.

Waking up to that view you is a luxury. It’s a familiy run homestay and they will arrange anything for you. It’s not exactly in Ella’s center but they have a Tuk Tuk and will drop you off / pick you up from anywhere in the area.
Also, best breakfast I had in Sri Lanka !
