We were originally planning to stay for 3 nights, and ended up staying a total of 10 days. It was appropriate fir my 2 year old, we switched between the rooms, we had 2 beach front rooms and this was very convenient with a kid, as i didnt have to carry a big bag for all my stuff, the room was right there. Pool is super clean. The beach view is just breathtaking. We saw dolphins, the hotel staff, came to our room once to tell us to come see the dolphins. Each room gets its own small garden, so during rainy days we would stay inside, and my kid would play in the garden. The rooms are very clean. The staff is just amazing! Everyone is so lovely and helpful. Pool guard got me a fresh aloe vera from his house to put on my skin after being sunburnt. We really felt comfortable. The front desk lady is an amazing women, elegant, sweet and helpful

If you want to find a quiet place in a beautiful secluded area for a fair price, this is your stay!
The room was good, ac also working and the shower functional.
The staff was very friendly and helpfull and the area itself is beautifull. A quiet beach is on walking distance and you can watch the sun sink in the ocean from an extra terrace. Breakfast and dinner were nice as well.
And as bonus, on arrival we got a tour of the surrounding area, beaches, even a little climbing tour over the rocks! Ask for neighbour Ravi ;) he will tell you everything about different fish, lobsters, oysters en the local life in that area!

When I saw the reviews I was curious because they were just too good. We still tried it for 3 nights and it was even better than we expected and even better than the reviews. It was one of the most wonderful places we have ever been. The room was amazing and had a wonderful big size. The food was delicious!! And I don’t even want to start at the lovely personal there. They were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. This is how a stay should be like. If you don’t believe me, go try it. You will never want to leave. THANK YOU!

Great beach, we felt like Robinson Crusoe on the beach, almost just the 2 of us. Visiting Mahdu Lake at 6 a.m. watching the sun goes up. A natural paradise with a lot of birds and other animals. Listening to their different noises. Dining at the Mangrove Cave Restaurant we enjoyed freshest seafood. It was just very tasty.
Villa Carla is a gem. The hotel is right in front of the beach and has only a few rooms, each It’s beautifully decorated by the owners. The staff is great, always super helpful and very discreet.
The beach in front of the hotel is one of the best we’ve seen in Sri Lanka! We only stayed at Villa Carla for three days. This is a place where to spend and relax for at least a week!

Kalapuwa resort is that place what offers you a quiet and relaxing way to enjoy your holiday. The owner Givana is very helpful and friendly, plus great person to talk to about everything. They offer delicious food and if you want you don’t need to leave even from the hotel to enjoy calmness and your holiday. The owner has a horse (pony) named Flika who gives the spirit to Kalapuwa resort.
Our stay at Bay Villas Balapitiya was just perfect. The location directly on the beach is breathtaking, our room was well equipped and the served food was very tasty. The crew is professional and ready to help, but also very friendly. It was the best place we visited during our whole stay in Sri Lanka. We really enjoyed our stay here and would gladly recommend it!
Sundara was one of the top 2 hotels on our trip. We had the beach villa and this was the perfect choice. Service is outstanding, food ist very good. Wonderful beach with a natural whirlpool. The last 3 days of our trip could not have been better. 100 percent recommendation.
