My experience at Hotel 4U Saliya Garden was exceptional. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, always willing to assist with arrangements for tours and tuk-tuk rides at reasonable prices. The food was delicious, and the swimming pool was spacious and well maintained. Guests can also enjoy complimentary access to the billiard table, which is always available. The hotel offers ample parking for vehicles, and the room was clean, comfortable, and equipped with a fully functional air conditioning system. A lot of nature and animals around is the cherry on top

We did a taxi tour with Gagan (via "less taxi private limited). He was a historian by backgroud. Saw:
- Old rock monastery complex
- Palace pleasure gardens
- Big stupa
Very engaging and knowledgeable and did a great tour of sites (the ones that don't require extra entrance charge)

Sacred city with amazing archeological finds and the oldest...
Sacred city with amazing archeological finds and the oldest live tree in the world, estimated to be over 2,500 years old. A little is known about the architectural philosophy of the ancient Hela ( Sinhala/Sri Lankan) King's, which placed the palace at the center and surrounded it with Dagabas and Monasteries (Ruwnaweli Maha Seya, Mirisawetiya, Abhayagiriya, Jethawanaramaya, Isurumuniya, and most recently, Sanda Hiru Saya to commemorate the 2009 end of LTTE war) in a circular immediate periphery. Next came Botanical Gardens (eg. Mahamwna Uyana), then lakes at the edge before agricultural lands (paddy fields). That's a fascinating 2000 years + history/archeological treasures to experience in Anuradhapura.

I have just stayed for a day because I didn’t want to spent around 25 dollars for the ancient cite. But I have walked around and prayed in Siri Maha Bodhi Tree area which is a massive and fascinating place! I have visited some other places such as Isurumuni Royal Temple and even sat down in front of the meditation stone and meditated there for a bit and it’s a very chanting place to be!

The old city and temple complex is huge and takes a long time to walk around. In many parts you are not allowed to wear shoes or hats, so if you don’t want burnt feet, take some socks and wear sunscreen and carry water.

Since the booking was made, the hotel contacted and checked for meal preferences and all the other needs we had, which was great. Very pleasant host and was attentive to our needs since our entry.
Very thoughtful to provide us flowers as offerings as well when we were planning to visit the temples in evening.
Food was good, rooms were clean and comfortable, close to all the anuradhapura temple, calm and tranquil location. Fully worth the money. Will stay again in our next visits yo Anurafhapura.

Located in a beautiful area surrounded by paddy fields and a small lake; very close to the Anuradhapura city and other (religious) places. Nice spacious rooms ( 2 floor cabana) with A/C; nice view from the cabana balcony. Medium sized swimming pool; great for a kids with family. (3ft - 5ft)
Staff was really nice and help-full. Breakfast was really good (had both Sri Lankan and Western options)
The hotel is really well located, in a quiet place, but there are few restaurants around and it's a short tuk tuk ride away from the city center.
The hosts are really nice and helpful. The breakfast is really good, and there are free bikes available to explore the old town.
I would totally recommend this place to stay while in Anuradhapura.
Great service from the staff at the hotel. Nice big spacious rooms with a lot of amenities. beautiful restaurant area for the dinner with sri lankan live music.
