Sadly, we were in Busan in the thick of winter so our experience was limited. We were, however, lucky enough to get a taste of the city and plan to return in better weather. I know the river walk there must be amazing in good weather.
To us, it seemed the people in Busan were happier and nicer than the people we encountered in Seoul. A friend described it as "Seoul is where the work gets done, Busan is where the fun happens."

My trip to Busan was nothing short of amazing!
My trip to Busan was nothing short of amazing! Here are some tips and highlights that made the experience truly unforgettable:
Get a T-Money Card
Before starting your journey, I highly recommend getting a T-Money card. This little card makes paying for public transportation (bus and subway) incredibly convenient, saving you time and hassle during your trip.
Must-Visit Attractions
Busan Tower
A visit to Busan Tower is an absolute must. The panoramic views of the city from the top are breathtaking, especially at sunset. It's a great way to appreciate Busan’s mix of urban and coastal beauty.
Sky Capsule Train and Beach Train
These train rides are a unique and fun way to explore Busan’s scenic coastline. A handy trick: instead of purchasing a round-trip ticket, buy single tickets for the Cube Train and the Sightseeing Train to better fit your schedule. This allows more flexibility and lets you explore different stops at your own pace.
Fish Market for Fresh Seafood
No trip to Busan is complete without a stop at the famous Jagalchi Fish Market. Here, you can indulge in the freshest sashimi and seafood dishes. The vibrant atmosphere and wide variety of seafood make it an unforgettable experience.
Final Thoughts
Busan is a city that perfectly blends natural beauty with urban attractions. From its towering landmarks to its scenic train rides and fresh seafood markets, it has something for everyone. Plan wisely, enjoy the flexibility of your itinerary, and immerse yourself in everything this vibrant city has to offer!

Busan is a city brimming with rich cultural heritage, where the pace of life feels refreshingly simple and unhurried.
Busan is a clean and vibrant city, with countless convenience stores and charming cafés around every corner. The food is affordable and delicious, often resembling the mouthwatering dishes seen in Korean dramas. From bustling street markets to cozy eateries, there’s always something to satisfy your cravings. The city’s atmosphere is both modern and traditional, offering a seamless blend of urban energy and relaxed coastal living. Whether you’re enjoying fresh seafood at the pier or sipping coffee in a trendy café, Busan has a unique way of making everyday moments feel special. I used Uber for getting around, and it worked seamlessly, providing a convenient and reliable way to explore the city.

Amazing Stay Next to Gangwali Beach – A Hidden Gem in Busan
Amazing Stay Next to Gangwali Beach – A Hidden Gem in Busan
I had the pleasure of staying next to Gangwali Beach in Busan, and it was an unforgettable experience. The location is absolutely stunning. The beach, while less crowded than some of the other popular spots in Busan, offers a serene atmosphere with beautiful views, especially during sunrise and sunset. The sound of the waves and the refreshing sea breeze made it feel like a peaceful escape.
The area surrounding the beach has a great mix of local cafes, restaurants, and shops, where you can enjoy fresh seafood and Korean specialties. I found the locals to be very friendly, and there’s a genuine sense of community in the area. It’s a great spot for both relaxation and exploration, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy nature while being close to the city.
The accommodation I stayed in was just a short walk from the beach, making it easy to enjoy the coastline throughout the day. The room was comfortable, with modern amenities and a great view of the ocean. Waking up to the sound of the waves each morning was a highlight of my trip.
Whether you're looking to relax by the water, explore the local culture, or simply unwind in a quiet environment, staying next to Gangwali Beach is a great choice. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to experience the beauty of Busan away from the hustle and bustle of the more touristy areas.

Busan’s bus displays mentions one thing, ‘Busan if Good’ and yes truly Busan is great. It is slow paced, convenient, less of a hustle bustle and we found is peaceful.
We travelled to Seoul too and comparatively Busan is much better place to stay in and spend more time over Seoul.
Seoul can be a pit stop for a day or two during your travel time in South Korea. It’s wise to spend more time in Busan and exploring the place and nearby.

Busan has a different vibe than Seoul in a good way.
Busan has a different vibe than Seoul in a good way. We loved exploring all the little laneways and alleys in Nampo-dong. Gamcheon and Huinnyeoul Cultural Villages are worth visiting and very easy to get to by bus.

See reviews by guests who stayed at hotels in Busan
The hotel is perfectly located to see Busan Tower, BIFF district or Jagalchi fish market. Also easy bus rides to Songdo. In case you would like to go to city center or Haeundae beach it takes 1.5 hrs by public transport. The hotel itself is simple, but filling all basic expectations. The rooms were quiet, AC working, internet as well. We did not took breakfast, staff was friendly at front desk and did everything for us.
Very easy to go find and access. You get a card which open and close the door, lockers etc. The sheets were clean. Everyday I saw the staff and they were very friendly. The location is ok. It’s close to the different markets and Busan Station BUT far from Seomyeon, Gwangali and Haeundae beach. The main room of the hostel is nice, good to meet people.
The hotel is conveniently located near the Centum City subway station. There are a Shinsegae and Lotte Department Stores less than 10 minutes away by foot. The subway line at Centum City is a fast way to arrive to Haeundae Beach and also central Busan. The staff was friendly. The bed was comfortable.
I think this hotel is the best choice for price and location only except luxury hotels in the Haeundae Beach. This room is actually apartment so you can use the washing machine easily with a free laundry detergent. The parking lot is also very good.
It’s right beside Haeundae Beach and a stone’s throw from Mipo Blueline Square, which are a must go in Busan. Also the breakfast with a view is stunning.
