It was lovely experiencing the local life with Saro & his family! There was no wifi, but our data worked fine and it was a good technology detox. The beds were comfortable and covered with mosquito nets, and an overhead fan kept us cool. It was especially nice taking an afternoon nap out in the balcony when a brief thunderstorm passed by. The breakfast & dinner cooked by Saro's wife was also very delicious (I recommend the fried rice and fried noodles), and through dinner talks, we learned a lot about the history of the Khmer Rouge in Battampang. Saro graciously took us on a tour to the bat cave, temple, and Killing Caves. He also arranged a tuk tuk to pick us up from the bus stop when we arrived & other tours in the area. We will never forget this experience!

An absolutely beautiful area hidden off the path with extremely friendly staff, delicious food and drinks, a gorgeous pool area and clean and comfortable rooms. If I ever make it back to Battambang, I’ll definitely plan to stay here again. Highly recommended!

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Their English is very good which makes it easy to organise trips and tours plus you can charge tuk tuk costs back to your room and they will organise these for you. Our driver was fabulous and gave us a lot of information about the history of the area. The food was delicious with an extensive, value for money menu. We ate all of our meals in Battambang at the resort restaurant and no dish disappointed. In fact the Fish Amok was the best out of three I had in Cambodia - it was divine. A lot of past reviewers have mentioned the breakfast - we would agree, the buffet is not great. But, if you ask for the menu items, e.g. omelette, or the soup they are lovely. The gardens are just beautiful and I took many photos of the flowers. I had a chat with a staff member who said that the owner was a great employer who treated the staff very well taking them on trips and ensuring that tips were shared with all staff - not just those front-of-house. It was lovely to know this and hear that staff are genuinely happy. As mentioned by another reviewer the missing pool tiles do need to be replaced as they could cut someone and it's not a good look. I was surprised at some of the negative reviews I read here because we would not hesitate to stay at Battambang Resort again.

Great place very peaceful. Very nice family. I like it very much so i could meet a real local family. I learned a lot about local life experience. They cooked food for me to eat so it is the best meal i eat so far. I wish to stay longer. I miss it . I will come back to stay again.
