Friendly, kind, very helpful (In particular I asked about non hotel related questions, what japanese stone inscriptions meant on top of a mountain, this lady also helped in using laundry machines). English was no problem. Would love to stay here again.

First of all let me preface this with following information: This is the owners house. He lives on the second floor. Now when this is out of the way I cannot reccomend this enough. This is a really good lodging for its money and the owner is super nice. He picked us up at the station and even drove us to local hot springs and restaurants. He also took us close to Mt. Fuji (that costed around 5000 yen for gas) and we visited a hot spring from which we gazed at Mt. Fuji. Owner knows a bit of English and was super accommodating. Though it will help a lot if you know at least a little japanese.

We had a wonderful night in Yamanashi prefecture. We booked the hotel as it was our anniversary and we were visiting some vineyards in the area. Being from the UK we did not know what to expect and the view from the hotel terrace of Mount Fuji blew us away. The amazing staff, who were just the most friendly of our 3 week trip, showed us to our room and we had been upgraded to a suite. It was by far the biggest hotel room we have ever stayed in and absolutely huge for a Japanese hotel. The best part was that we got a perfect view of Mount Fuji from our bedroom. A spectacular treat. We ate in the hotel and had a set Japanese meal which was delicious. We practiced our Japanese as all the staff spoke little to no English, but they tried so hard to help us and were amazing. The next morning we had a nice breakfast while watching a film crew make a movie on the terrace. An added bonus. We wished we could have stayed longer and our amazing reception lady even helped us to our car with our massive suitcases. The stay really exemplified Japanese warmth and hospitality. I wish I had taken names so I could mention them personally. We were made to feel so special and it was explained to us that not many British tourists visit them and the region. I can tell you that everyone should explore beyond the main cities, as the wine is great, the countryside splendid and the Fuji views (if you're lucky like we were and got a sunny day) were breathtaking. A true highlight of our trip. Thank you everyone.

・The location was nice and quiet!
・The bed was super comfortable and so nice that I got to have a private room!
・I love the sounds of nature (crickets and water flowing) while I sleep, I don't really get to experience that at my own home

We absolutely loved the private sauna, as we have tattoos. We were given a massive room with a separate tatami area, which was a surprise, and we loved it! Depending on what you're after, there are hoto places close by which is a must try when you are in this area. The property is walkable from the train station. However, with the road being rough, it might damage your wheels as it did ours. I would stay here again.
