Honestly, I liked everything in this hostel. The beds are comfortable and the facilities are clean and well maintained. There is free coffee and tea and you can order (very delicious!) breakfast and dinner for a reasonable price. The common area is very nice and it’s easy to socialize with other travelers. It’s also close to the station, harbor and a convenience store/supermarket.
Ideally located just a 3-minute walk from JR Wakkanai Station, this hotel features a wide range of services and facilities like a concierge desk, currency exchange and massages.

Great location in easy walking distance from JR Wakkanai station. The room had a fantastic view. The facilities were extremely clean and the staff were friendly and accomodating. The size of the room was also large for Japan.

We would like to stay another day or two in Wakkanai the next time we go and visit. As it was we spent less than an hour in Cape Soya, which was basically our main objective, the northernmost point in Hokkaido.
We enjoyed the park near the Gate of Ice and Snow as well as the observation tower. The view of the city from that vantage point was very nice.

It is situated at the northmost town of Hokkaido.
It is situated at the northmost town of Hokkaido. Staying next to eki help with transportation and moving around.
Famous for their seafood, Cape Soya for her black cow steak. Winter is a nice get away for busy people.
Despite local trying to promote tourism here, lack of interest by both tourist as well as local.
Summer is good time to drop by. The whole place is covered with wild daisy flowers. The temperature is very comfortable. Wakkanai park, one can still see late sakura here.
Noshapu sunset is beautiful.
If one is lucky, you may even observe parhelion or sun dog.
If you are taking the ferry to Rebun island, do go to the dock to see swimming oracs. I had observed hundreds but they did not surface due to fear of been hunted.
I like Wakkanai, both summer as well as winter.
A very well-run and established accommodation in Wakkanai. I would definitely stay there again if I come to Wakkanai. The place is clean, the staff is friendly and nice, and breakfast is good. The place is quite lively with people hanging out in the dining room.
A short walk away from the main JR station. It is a hotel that seems to be a favorite amongst Japanese tourist for its onsen. The free ramen for supper is a lovely touch especially when the town shuts down at night.
Great location. The room is a bit dated but clean and comfortable. Hotels have 2 restaurants which are both good. (There're not much restaurants around within walking distance.)
