Loved the beauty, the people of the town were sooo sweet.
Loved the beauty, the people of the town were sooo sweet. One helped me adjust my yakuta and many were helpful to make my first Onsen experience great.
The town has a siesta in the afternoon. Some restaurants and stores close early

Kinosaki Onsen is a lovely little onsen town.
Kinosaki Onsen is a lovely little onsen town. I was there from 6pm and spent the night onsen hopping. Went to 5 out of 6 as one of them was closed for that day. One onsen was 700yen but I bought the day pass for 1500yen which allowed me to visit all of them. There were lovely izakayas for dinner. (5 hours is definitely not enough for dinner and visiting 5 onsens. Do note that although onsens close at 11pm, the last entry is 10.30pm).
The next morning, I walked around the town again, and got a different feel of the place. The night view was lovely and the morning walk was delightful too. Be sure to wander in the back alleys. I surrendipitously found Gokuraku Temple with a beautiful garden and seeing school children walk leisurely to school beside the canal lined with lanterns and old houses was a heart-warming experience.
I wish I had given myself more time at Kinosaki Onsen. I only had 16 hours which was way too short.

The town is really cute with lots of great shops and the onsen at the hotel was super relaxing. There were a lot of children at the public onsen so we decided to skip most of them and felt the one night we stayed was enough

Kinosaki Onsen is such a charming town.
Kinosaki Onsen is such a charming town. After spending a week running around cities like Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, it was nice to unwind in a small town that was very self-contained but also had some nice outdoor activities like exploring Mt. Daishi, in addition to the 7 public baths.

If you love onsens and seafood, this is the perfect place to go unwind and dine. Kinosaki Onsen is a small, photogenic town that feels more like a neighborhood. There are many kinds of restaurants, but especially crab seems to be the hit here, with shops that sell them right out on the street.
Tip: a few websites offer real-time percentages of how busy any onsen in the area is.

This is a excellent hot spring village. It was very easy to walk around the town with yukata and immerse in the Japanese hot spring culture, all thank to the great staffs at the train station, the hotel, the public hot spring counters, and owners of the shops. I highly recommend UTSUROI Tsuchiya Annex. The hosts are very nice and warm, and kindly answered all the questions we had. My partner and I had a wonderful trip in kinosaki onsen! Plus, the cafe and breakfast at the hotel was awesome, please try!!
When I got there was almost 0:00 midnight, there was a kind mister who helped me check in. My thumb was dry cold and a little bleeding, I asked for a piece of tissue then he gave many band-aid which helped me a lot. Many thanks.
The room is compact and clean. It takes about 10 minutes walking to Toyooka station. Breakfast is Japanese style.
It is a hidden gem and a great place to experience Japanese culture and way of living. You will have a chance to put on a traditional Japanese clothes kimono to walk along the street. The onsens are all walking distance from the hotel. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.
The traditional style rooms are a good size and the staff are super friendly and helpful. The bus into town is really useful come gives you free pick ups after your onsen. The hotel onsen is really good as well and was a real treat after a long train journey.
The hotel is quite and very comfortable. Staff are helpful and friendly. Its a bit far from the main street, but the remote location turns out excellent for travellers who are looking for a peaceful environment.
