Hotel looks quite old from the outside but the rooms have been recently renovated and are spacious are very nice. Onsen is gender separated and changes overnight (with view on Sakurajima and special "carbonated bath").
Food was outstanding: one of the best ever had! Overall highly satisfied.

The staff was so kind and always available to help. They became my tour guides and suggested many restaurants and shops to visit. The hotel is in a perfect location, close to many restaurants, shops, a supermarket, a bus stop to the airport, a ferry terminal, an aquarium, and the main road of the city. This hotel was pretty good. The best thing, particularly for the kids, was the great outdoor pool and large spas. The rooms were totally fine. Unfortunately the view isn't quite as advertised as its actually via a balcony. So you kind of have to be on the balcony to see the view, but it has a balustrade that's pretty obstructive and there isn't any furniture on the balcony. So it wasn't as easy to enjoy as it could have been. It was nice though. The coin laundry on the bottom floor was a bonus.
