Only 1 restaurant close by. NOTHING is remotely closed except for the train station. It was like staying at someone’s house. Air conditioner worked good. Traditional bathrooms.

This is a great little town on the shores of Lake beaver.
This is a great little town on the shores of Lake beaver. Behind it is a number of beautiful but easily climbable on mountains. It's a great place to relax. This was my first trip in August and I had to say it was much cooler than the weather that we've been having in the Kansai kill kill area. I will definitely go there again the next time I decide to spend August in Japan.

Many campsites along Lake Biwa, also many gardens along Lake Biwa. Great if you like both.
Most of the sightseeing are shrines. Only Shirahige Shrine is uniquely interesting due to the torii gate being in the lake.

The only hard part about this place is the wind if you're bike touring, the wind hits you very hard and a big drag if you're just starting or getting close to the finish. But the scenery was good. and hot springs too. :D
