Stefano is very friendly and accommodating. He made us fresh bread and jam. It’s really good! Room is very clean and well equipped with towels, toiletries even toothbrushes. I also like that there is plenty of hangers and space to hang clothes. Space for luggage too. Fridge, kettle and coffee machine available for use. Free parking too! Convenient to visit Mt Aso and Takachiho Gorge from here.

The place was easy to find (even in total darkness), and is in a beautiful town Takamori from where you can see the mountains. The host is a wonderful person. He patiently explained to us how to use facilities in the property. Whenever there is any issue in the property such as short circuit or alarm triggering off in appliances, he turned up almost instantly to assist us. He guided us how to walk to a scenic spot nearby and he drove to check if we had any problem, worry we might lose our way. A thoughtful host made our stay almost perfect; the only drawback was the location which is impossible to reach without driving. But a good host overwhelmed the drawback entirely.

The cottage was very comfortable, quiet, clean, and spacious. The kitchen was well appointed and if there was something we needed that wasn’t supplied we just had to ask Mayumi the owner.

The staff from the kitchen, housekeeping to reception were exceptionally friendly and helpful making our stay an extremely enjoyable one and feeling as if it’s home away from home. The accommodation has to make a last minute change to the menu of my wife who is lactose intolerant, during our entire stay. My mistake for not informing the hotel before hand. Food was scrumptious and sumptuous. It’s French cuisine and the taste, flavour and flavour was very very good. The star gazing tour, spanning 2 hours, was very interesting and educational. We were able to see Jupiter and Betelgeuse through the telescope of the observatory. Overall despite the higher cost of accommodation it’s definitely value for money. Lastly we regret to only able to obtain the name of one of the staff, Yoshi. Yoshi is a very dedicated and empathetic person and try his best to understand our needs and wants.
