Quiet location, nice value for money, close to a train station
I went to Tachikawa for a concert at Tachikawa Stage Garden...
I went to Tachikawa for a concert at Tachikawa Stage Garden and it was my very first time visiting there.
Life in Tachikawa seems to be a bit more laid-back than central Tokyo even though it's a big city as well. Meaning, you get to enjoy the convience and entertainment of what big cities offer, but it's a bit less crowded and less chaotic.
Showa Kinen National Park is a great place. I spent two afternoons there to clear my head and connect with nature. Highly recommend.
I'll definately be back for the unexplored spots such as the art museums and many eateries.

Tachikawa is near the Air Force Base which is why we stayed...
Tachikawa is near the Air Force Base which is why we stayed there, with easy access (though anywhere from 40-80 minutes to get to downtown/east Tokyo tourist sites), very affordable and easy to navigate.
