The staff at reception were very helpful and easy to talk to despite a minor translation barrier. Conveniently close train station, and another about 15 minutes walking distance from the hotel. There’s a konbini on the second floor, with two places to get either drinks or food at, and the amazing grocery store on the first floor which had anything we needed or wanted to try.
The hotel is beautifully designed and extremely clean. I took advantage of the laundry room, though, I did have to run the dryer for additional time. Fresh towels and water bottles provided daily which was really appreciated.
The beds were comfy, the bathroom was more spacious than our hotel we stayed at in Shinjuku.
Property was located nearby quiet neighborhoods which were nice to walk around after meals to get lost for a bit and enjoy the peaceful silence from the metro areas.
Did not hear the trains from the hotel at all. Lovely views as well.

We spent 3 weeks in Japan and stayed at many hotels and rooms, all very nice. But, I have to say this was by far the best place we stayed at while in Japan. It is located right outside one of the entrances to Kansai University and the train station is steps away. The home is beautifully decorated and the serene atmosphere was relaxing. Our room was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The hosts gave us clear instructions on how everything worked and helpful information on the surrounding area. When returning to the area, this will be our first choice.
Thank you to the wonderful hosts.

Staff was very helpful with checking in and even helped us answer general questions. Location was within walking distance of Dontonburi. Facility offered amenities to help with stay. Cleaning staff did good job making up the rooms.

APA hotel rooms often feature darker color schemes, which can create a somewhat oppressive and depressive atmosphere. The rooms are typically compact, with limited space, contributing to a feeling of confinement. However, there are positives to staying at APA hotels, such as their convenient locations and a streamlined, efficient check-in process. Additionally, guests can enjoy a wide selection of complimentary movie entertainment.
It’s important to recognize that APA Hotels are closely associated with Japan’s extreme right-wing movement. The founder of APA Group has been known to promote nationalist ideologies, which can be reflected in the materials provided in the rooms, such as controversial books or pamphlets. This connection has sparked debate and discomfort among some guests, especially those who may not share these political views.
The atmosphere within APA hotels—compact, dark, and somewhat insular—can be seen as a reflection of the broader ideologies they are linked to. While some guests may appreciate the convenience and entertainment options provided, others may find the political affiliations and the overall atmosphere unsettling. This blend of efficient service and a charged ideological environment makes APA Hotels a complex choice for travelers, especially those sensitive to the sociopolitical context of their accommodations.
Amazing location, so easy to get to Shin-Osaka Station and Osaka/Umeda station. The hotel is part of a shopping center right across from Esaka station. The lobby and the provided amenities like toner etc. were nice. They are an eco-friendly hotel and won't clean the room unless you put the provided notice on your door.
They didn't go over the top to enforce the covid measures.
Staff were respectful, friendly and helpful.
The room was big compared to other hotels. Clean, comfortable.
