Great location on top of the Sounkyo. Short walk to the ropeway. We booked a room with private bath. There is 3 onsen (2 with outdoor baths). Staff was friendly and approachable.

We stayed here two nights. Our Japanese style room was very large and comfortable, with a wonderful view of the mountainside and river below. Both onsen were gorgeous, with lots of space, large indoor and outdoor soaking pools, sauna and relaxing seating. Dinner and breakfasts were self service buffets. We are vegetarian and found enough to eat, although more fruit and salads would have been nice. The hotel is situated a 5 min walk from the cable car station for exploring Mt Kurodake. There are also waterfall walks nearby, and is ideal for travelling further into the National Park.

A 5-minute walk from Sounkyo Bus Terminal, Sounkaku features hot spring baths, a sauna and 4 restaurants. It offers Japanese-style accommodation.

One of the best guesthouses I have stayed in so far. I loved the very cozy and spacious common space, lovely staff members, very comfortable beds, lots of beautiful hikes nearby... There's also a room you can 'book' to have a quiet place to be alone. I recommend to have dinner at the guesthouse, it was delicious.

Yumoto Ginsenkaku offers outdoor hot spring baths, a sauna and karaoke facilities, only a 1-minute walk from the Kurodake Ropeway, which offers amazing nature views.

We had a comfortable stay at this hotel, the manager was kind enough to let us make changes to our booking, which we really appreciated. The hotel is located in a very quiet area, near the cable car to the mountain and tourist information centre.

Fabulous onsen hotel at the end of the road at the top of a mountain and next to the cable car. Rooms (we had a double and two singles) were huge with sitting areas, large bathrooms and very comfortable beds. Buffet style dinner was good and the onsen bath was a delight. Highly recommended.

La Vista Daisetsuzan is located in Hokkaido, a 1-hour 20-minute drive from Biei Hills and Asahiyama Zoo. The hotel offers a public hot spring bath and free Wi-Fi at the access.

Located a 30-minute drive from Asahikawa Airport, Shikishimaso features Japanese-style rooms fitted with tatami (woven-straw) flooring.

Very helpful reception staff, big spacious rooms. The breakfast and dinner was very good, focused around local food, a good variety of dishes and menu changed enough for the second night, so not repetitive.
