My daughter and I stayed at Daisuke's place in Shimanto on our recent Japan holiday. It has been the highlight of our trip. Despite being told by the host to not go on the 439 road we unfortunately didn't notice that's exactly where Google was taking us and had a very scary 30min. The futons were the most comfortable beds so far, and there was plenty of space. Dinner provided and made by the host was delicious and fresh with a surprise seafood platter by his friend. After a day making knives at a local workshop we returned to join Daisuke for dinner at good friends. They were some of the loveliest and liveliest people we have met, amazing food and amazing company all night. Overall, we are definitely going to be returning!

A nice house in the countryside. It was a very hot day and they had turned the air conditioning on for our arrival. Good directions and easy to check in. The house has been well maintained with some lovely traditional features.
