Hotel very near Sapporo Station. There are also nearby restaurants and convenience stores. The view from the hotel is the train tracks and construction ongoing for another track. So far, room is soundproofed though I don't mind the sound of the train. I like the pillows, very comfortable.

During winter Sapporo there is a lot of place you can visit to see the beautiful scenery. However, I would suggest that you plan for one location per day instead of trying to put in multiple locations. Example if you are going to mitsui outlet for shopping, just spent one day there, you can shop and buy until you drop dead and have ample time to eat at the food court(the toriyaki, and pork rice should not miss ). Then do your tax rebate after that.
There was one day we went to the royce town factory(better than the shiroi koibito park). Just take the train at about 9am from Sapporo station to royce town. There you can explore the factory, enjoy the chocolate making there and take your time to go back to Sapporo station at about 3pm. All this is done in our own time no rush(not a lot of people). Take you time plan for the trip and because of the cold, travelling and walking take up much more time. I would not suggest to go to so called famous restaurant that is a standalone building. If there is a long wait you will need to wait outside the restaurant for some time in the cold.

You will need to explore other places outside the city to enjoy Sapporo. Take a tour is best specially when you go to Furano (Summer is the best time to visit to see the lavender fields) and the blue lake. The best seafood place is Otaru. Fresh seafood (uni and crabs..yum). It was quite easy to go to Otaru. You can take a bus ride or train ride. Otaru also has a quaint town. Its felt like a little bit of Kyoto.

There's a lot of place to explore, especially their natures. However, I should research more about the public transportation because there's no subway outside Sapporo. On the other hand, I really enjoy staying at Sapporo and I wish I can explore more.

It's a great city, both for shopping and sightseeing. The design of the underground shopping street in the city centre is very impressive. The biggest change in the city is "No Utility Pole Promotion Plan", which makes the whole of Hokkaido look cleaner and more beautiful. If I have the chance, I will come back here in spring!

We enjoyed our 4 days stay in Sapporo during autumn months of late October. The weather was just perfect and the trees were magical with yellow, orange and red colours. Our trip to Toya lake, Biei Pond, shikasen falls, Otaru city etc were good add-ons to further experience this island. Highly recommend adding it in your Japan itinerary.

The seafood was excellent as described by almost everyone and so readily available. A day trip to Otaru is a must for even more delectable sushi. The late fall has excellent sweater weather during the day and makes sightseeing and shopping pleasurable.

The check-in process was fairly quick and fuss-free. The staff at the hotel reception were welcoming and helpful. We had some luggage sent over via takkyubin and they managed it efficiently. They were also very helpful when we asked about the airport limousine bus.
Hotel breakfast was not bad in terms of taste.
There are bus-stops and Sapporo TV tower/Odori Park within a few mins' walk, or you can walk to Sapporo station if you're willing to walk a bit more. The area is fairly quiet and felt safe.
Apartment was well sized and a short walk from JR sapporo station. Area was quiet with carparks located across the road and also at the end of the block. It was also close to 7-11, Lawson as well as Toyota rent-a-car.
Check in was fairly easy even though there ws no on-site reception.
Washing machine in the apartment was definitely handy. Kitchen had a full sized fridge and was also well equipped for basic short stays.
Bathroom was well sized with a bath and shower area.
A staff member took my luggage for me to my room and gave me a tour of their room.
They had a supermarket inside the hotel and offered multiple services like massages (for a price of course).
Having breakfast at the hotel allowed you to go to the highest floor and see the park view from the photos while you're enjoying your breakfast.
The hotel was within 5 minutes of a subway stop and it took about 3 stops to reach Sapporo Station.
