Perfectly located with a very knowledgeable local host who went out of his way to make sure I enjoyed myself and had a good time. I stayed in a room in what is a cute local Japanese house, where you also have access to shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. It really feels like you are staying at a friend's house! I also strongly recommend Yuki's island tour which showed off many interesting and beautiful spots on the island. Hoping I get a chance to return!

Food and facilities were only fair for the price.
Came back to reminisce about the hotel I used to rave about. Rishiri Island and the trip by ferry did not disappoint. If only the hotel were as awesome as the volcano and sky.

Rishiri Greenhill was clean, likeable, had tatami floors in the room (always a plus). The sound of waves on the shore from our room is a plus too. The staff were helpful when we needed them to make a phone call for us, and bike rental was good as well. It's a short walk to groceries and a slightly longer walk to great izakayas.

Location is very convenient near the ferry, shops including restaurants, and one of the island's onsens not too far away. The sea view from my room and from the bathroom was so refreshing! It was clean and fresh with ample supplies of towels and yukata (and coffee!) - and a helpful manager.
