Check in was really smooth with enthusiastic and respectful receptionist. I taught myself below n5 level basic japanese, but she made me feel like i spoke a higher level. The room was good for what i paid for.

I liked that it was isolated from busy city Tokyo and that it was super close to nature and the mountain. The hospitality of the host was unmatched, the food dishes were delicious and hearty. I saw a tanuki the first day of the trip. It was an amazing day even when it’s rainy, because you can stay inside and relax.

One of the most comfortable futons I've stayed in so far. Everything was clean and tidy.
Despite the contactless check in, owner greeted me later that evening and showed me the facilities. Also included a stocked kitchen with some food staples.
Was also able to do laundry! Lovely bath as well.
It was rather cold, but the traditional-style rooms hold the heat very well! I was very cozy.

Very comfortable and clean for our family's stay. Great atmosphere and vibe throughout the home. Very convenient location for hiking Mt Mitake. We loved the nice large bathtub as well. So nice to soak after a long day of hiking. It was equipped with everything you would need (including 3 prong plugs which my husband found useful for his laptop). A previous review stated there weren't curtains in one of the bedrooms, but that was remedied as there were nice shutters to use during our stay. We had a lovely stay and we would recommend it to others!
