The hotel was well located within walking distance of the train station and the centre of both the night life and heart of Okayama making it a perfect base for those traveling West Japan by Rail. Okayama has a charming castle and gardens but it's rail station is well serviced by the Shinkansen including the Nozami Super Express services with more trains stopping there than nearby Himejii and Fukuyama making it a perfect base for exploring.
While the rooms weren't the largest this place was easily one of the best budget and low cost hotels we stayed at and as well as having Laundry, 24h reception and friendly staff on hand it offered free soft drinks, coffee, ice pops, hot chocolate etc from the reception 24h and the staff were both helpful and good English.
The hotel provides fresh towels every day either in the room or on the door if you're in Do Not Disturb.

What a pleasant surprise this hotel was, really great rooms, super friendly staff, a washmachine and dryer in your room to use for free, wow! On booking.com, the hotel comes accross as a bit shabby, but it is not at all. Everything is very new, spacious and well maintained.

Okayama is very convenient to transfer by trains to other sightseeing cities and places around, such as Kurashiki, Himeji, Naoshima Island, Teshima Island. The city is not very big, but worthy of a one-day walk around the castle and its royal park. The local people are friendly and most places are quiet, clean.
The Okayama's peaches are very delicious, juicious and sweet. Highly recommended!

I chose Okayama as a destination because I wanted to see Korakuen Gardens rated as one of 3 best in Japan.
I also wanted to see Naoshima Art Island and it made a good day trip.
The Kibitsu-jinja Shinto Temple was a fantastic complex. And out in the country a bit so peaceful. Another good day trip.
The local Art Gallery had a good exhibition on and the Castle was one of the best I've seen.
The town is just a good size. All conveniences without the Osaka scramble.

Bustling and thriving, really cool underground mall / restaurant alley next to the JR Okiyama station. Many dining options in that vacinity. I was only in town for eighteen hours, barely saw anything but had a nice visit on my way to the ultimate destination.

Very beautiful and underrated area of Japan. All the sights were lovely and it’s a good area if you’re interested in history, and leisure outdoor activities. I’d recommend really planning out your time since the transportation isn’t as frequent as Tokyo and lots of places close pretty early around 5/6pm.

There were beautiful gardens in the city including the wonderful botanic garden. The castle was also interesting. In addition, Okayama is a wonderful place to stay with day trips to wonderful cities/sites such as Hiroshima, Kurashiki, Naoshima or Himeji Castle.

Okayama is very pleasant and easygoing, with lots of walking possibilities. It is also located in between big tourist centers that can be easily reached from Okayama. People in Okayama are very nice and friendly, and food is really delicious.
Very good location! I can walk from the JR Okayama rail station via the shopping centre and then through the lobby of another hotel to Mitsui Garden Hotel. The price of the hotel is very competitive. The staff of the hotel is very friendly and helpful, and they can speak good English. I would recommend it to other travelers traveling by JR train.
The simple room that is nonetheless very nice. Also relatively good distance from Okayama station and accessible by bus. Everything is straightforward. I didn't realize English usage is limited for this hotel. This is fine because front desk is very nice and my Japanese helped.
Hotel staff friendly and allowed me to check in early. Good location, 20 mins walk from the station or right near the bus/tram stop. A few mins walk from the castle and Korakuen gardens.
