Very clean, friendly place. Visited Akita for the Kanto Festival in Akita city. It is about 1 hour drive but was no stress. The town of Misato is famous for spring water and amazing sake.

Fulsato features a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within 10 miles of Shigarai Ski Area and 28 miles of Kitakami Station.

My wife & I stayed at Fulsato for one night on a Tohoku ski trip driving from Geto Kogen to Tazawako. We’ve stayed at many Ryokan on our trips to Japan and this was likely the best one. From the moment we arrived the staff was so kind and helpful. We got a room overlooking the river with our own private bath in the balcony. The other public baths were nice esp the outdoor one. The room was well thought out and immaculately clean. The best part was the food! Both the dinner and breakfast were kaiseki style and the presentation and flavors were amazing. The price was higher than we usually pay but it felt like a total value.

Wonderful location. Right next to the station, but the Shinkansen are so quiet we didn’t hear them. Easy walk to historical district. Good breakfast. Had dinner at the hotel restaurant one night and it had a good selection.
