Its important to note that the owner/ manager was amazing and very helpful since the beginning. He drove us from the hike as there was no transportation, he was always around to help. The place was very near from the ferry terminal and the shops and restaurants.

It is like a home, with pretty much everything provided for you. The kitchen is particularly well-equipped. There is a kotatsu as well as a heater. There is a washer and dryer for a small fee. The TV has lots of channels and there are DVDs also, for those days when you’re stuck inside because of rain. I stayed there alone, but it could comfortably sleep 4 to 6 people. There is an A Coop grocery store about ten minutes away on foot, and they have a large selection. A steal for the price.

- just 10 min walk to the supermarket. There have a few restaurants nearby but not always open, better to reserve dinner at hostel. Also, you can order bento at hostel
- The host is nice and very helpful, he drives us to the nearest bus stop for go to Shiratani Unsuikyo, but a little bit difficult to communicate with English
- room is clean and tidy, share bathroom and wash room.
