Fantastic view. Fantastic management. Super great value comparing to all other hotels nearby.
On the shores of scenic Lake Toya-ko, Hotel Lakeside Terrace boasts natural hot-spring baths. Guests can enjoy a massage. The spacious rooms have an attached bathroom.

Beautiful hotel located right by the lake. Room size was huge and comfortable, although a tad dated. The onsens were great with an amazing view of Mt Yotei! Their buffet breakfast and dinner were very extensive in its range of food, featuring Hokkaido fresh produces. Will stay here again if I visit Lake Toya again.
Located a 15-minute taxi ride from or a 25-minute bus ride from JR Toya Train Station, The Lake View Toya Nonokaze Resort offers guests a panoramic view of Lake Toya from their infinity onsen.
Right on the shores of Lake Toya, Kohan Tei features outdoor hot-spring baths with lake views, buffet meals and karaoke. The Japanese-style rooms are air-conditioned and include a satellite LCD TV.

Fantastic location and views from onsen and rooms are amazing. Sleeping on the tatami mats was a great experience. The buffet was very good and staff were very helpful. The decor in the common areas was a little old and dated but the location and onsen made up for that.
Lake Toya is a special Jewel of a retreat in Japan.
Lake Toya is a special Jewel of a retreat in Japan. It is well known but many people have never been as its slightly more difficult to get to then other Onsen. The natural beauty of the lake is breathtaking and well worth the visit, it is a small town by comparison so not so much for shopping/nightlife etc. Your going to sit and watch the sunset and soak for a long time in Onsen or tubs. Also many of the Onsen seem to be of very high quality so pick what fits budget/needs best and I bet you will have a spectacular time.

We enjoyed the Ususzan Ropeway, Volcano Museum in town and driving around the countryside to Niseko, Otaru (great canal and Railway Museum), and the National Ainu Museum at Upupoy.
Beautiful lake views and fireworks each night.

Scenic beauty and great views.
Scenic beauty and great views. Opportunity for camping trips, hot baths, water sports, winter sports. Very recommended for outdoor activities at any level of fitness and experience. Still very close to main urban centres in Hokkaido (Sapporo, Chitose, etc) - about 1 hr by car.

Lake Toya is a beautiful caldera lake located next to Mt. Usu, an active volcano. Visitors can take a ropeway to the top, or enjoy activities such as paddleboarding, hiking, camping and more in the surrounding area. During the summer, guests staying at the hotels on the lake can also enjoy the small fireworks display in the evenings.

Toya was so beautiful.
Toya was so beautiful. The best kind of countryside you can ask for. We went to the toya hill farm which was so good for people watching. Oh but please drive, the public transport was so frustrating. We had to walk 24mins to the next busstop and the buses take so long to come

Didn’t like it in late February.
Didn’t like it in late February. The only thing to do is go to the onsen, some of the hotels will grant you access for a small fee if you’re not staying there.
There is a boat tour (looks like a princess castle, sort of weird), pricey and so so boring, they don’t even go all around the lake and it doesn’t stop for you to step on the islands.
Overall, very sad town in February.

cosy boutique hotel. design and deco exudes luxury. room is big even for 3pax. in room onsen is great. dinner and breakfast that’s part of room deal were great and with variety . free coffee grinder to make your own specialty coffee is great as part of relaxation in room
1 min drive to nearby seico mart and the lake Toya park to try public hand and foot bath
The hotel boasts a stunning view of Lake Toya from every room, which is tastefully decorated with a modern Japanese style. The rooms are exceptionally spacious and meticulously renovated. The outdoor onsen is a must-try experience. The hospitable hotel staff make the stay even more enjoyable. It's recommended to have a car to reach this remote location.
The hotel was exceptional. The family who run it were very welcoming and their service excellent. The room was really nice, spacious, comfortable, facilities in pristine condition and a wonderful view over Lake Toya. The home cooked dinner and breakfast were of first class quality and ample.
We had the property to ourselves which was a great help. The owner gave us vouchers for a discounted onsen and because one of us was resident in Japan they were able to include us in the Hokkaido voucher scheme to encourage internal tourism
