This is a stand alone house directly at the cliffs. Lower floor seemed to be storage area. All upper floor is guest apartment consisting of fully equipped kitchen with seating area, big tatami room, and one bedroom with two conventional beds. Latter two rooms open up to a terrace with beautiful sea view. There was self check-in and out without difficulties. Onsen 5 minutes away walking. Café and fish restaurant same distance. Supermarket down the road in town.

The staff did a marvelous job of converting a warehouse previously used as a salt wholesaler. The living facilities are upstairs filled with the latest amenities. Parking is plentiful with a quaint cafe/coffee shop at the end of a 3 meter wide corridor. The young staff made us feel like family. A short drive away is a large A-Z shopping center, also with cheap gas for those traveling by car. One gets the sense that much thought and care went into the design of the facilities. My wife and I liked Shioya Hostel so much that extended our stay to 2 nights.

We loved this cute place! Our host met us to give us keys and tell us where to park (offsite but within walking distance), and she was very warm, sweet, and accommodating. The place was clean, comfortable, and everything worked (aircon, hotwater, bidet toilet, etc). The location is stunning and right on the water. The view from the upstairs bedroom was gorgeous, and offered a spectacular view of the fjord on which the entire town is sitting. Everything is within walking distance, including the famous Sakitsu Catholic Church (a world heritage site).
HOTEL R9 The Yard Izumi is located in Izumi, 26 miles from Sendai-ko. The 3-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with a private bathroom and free WiFi.

As a small family with lots of stuff to take from the car it was very convenient to be able to park just in front of the container. The room is as comfortable as any well maintained business hôtel plus it is still new so everything was in very good condition. Amenities were as it should. The staff was very nice.
