One of the best hotels we've ever stayed at. There were subtle beauty in everything - from the artwork on display to even the little spoons by the coffee cups were tastefully selected.
Every single staff we interacted were attentive and extremely warm without being "too friendly". We felt very well taken care of throughout our stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed roasting marshmallow and having a peaceful moment in the record room & library too.
As our son was still young, we opted for the room service dinner. We got to enjoy the same delicious food as the Italian restaurant on the fifth floor but in the comfort of our own room.
We highly recommend driving to this hotel.

Very convenient location. Just next to JR Sakudaira station and next to car rental company. And near the giant outlets like GU, Cainz, etc… just drive n park infront of the store. Can also walk from hotel to these outlet stores. And near lots of restaurants, convenience stores, etc. hotel has spa and onsen which we used everyday. And nice restaurant in hotel.

I enjoyed the home cooked meals and the company. I made a new friend and got to experience Komoro as well as Karuizawa. He was extremely hospitable and funny.
Komoro is very easy to access from Karuizawa station and the host picked me up from the station and cooked awesome meals for me! (Cooked whatever I requested) 10/10.
I snowboarded everyday at Karuizawa. On the last day we went to the castle and prayed at the shrine, which was perfect because I did not get to pray at a shrine on New Years. He also shared some cultural knowledge with me, so I got to learn more about Japanese culture.
