I booked a single room, and it was clean and nicely decorated. The owners are very friendly and speak good English.
I had originally said I would arrive at 6-7pm, but was delayed and arrived after 8pm. The owner kindly facilitated this for me but it is a small hotel so it is helpful to be accurate with your arrival time.
Newly opening in March 2014, Hotel Route Inn Hashimoto offers free Wi-Fi throughout the property, and is located a 6-minute drive from JR Hashimoto Train Station.

I am going to explain this accomodation to all WESTERN TOURISTS:
So we decided to book this hotel because it was on the way to Koya san and next to a railway Station. But the hotel was 400 metres a bit on the hill (just to know if you have big or much luggage). The hotel is the biggest building in this little mountain village and there's not much around accept jungle like forest. So when we arrived in the evening there was no place to eat nearby accept 1km over the hill was one restaurant open. We couldn't somehow eat at the hotel, even if we would have paid for it. That was strange.
To the hotel itself:
It has 5 floors with different room options. We stayed at the economy room which is Japanese style which means you have those futons, small table and "chairs" and at night you have to put a mattress on the floor by yourself for sleeping. That was a nice experience. You have an extra toilet and a baisin, a fridge, a rice cooker in the front room and that's basically it. The discription says "shared bathroom" but this is the onsen on the 1st floor. So you go with your yukata (bath robe) downstairs where you find onsen for men, women and a family option you can pay for additonally if you wanna.have some privacy or want to experience the onsen with your partner. We tried both and we really liked it. It's a great experience in Japan.
Situated within 21 km of Subaru Hall and 27 km of Sakai Municipal Mihara Culture Hall, Kappo INN Tokusa features rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Hashimoto.

The apartment is roomy with two bedrooms, lounge and kitchen . Toilet is separate from the bathroom which is always a bonus ! Car park is right out the front ! Check in was easy, non contact . Convenience stores not far down the road and there is a restaurant on the property which we ate at both nights and was delicious. About 40 minutes to Koyosan which was largely the reason for our visit
Didn't use the kitchen but looked like it had all you'd need .Bedding was supplied and was warm
KAMENOI HOTEL Tondabayashi offers a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within 7.5 km of Subaru Hall and 13 km of Sakai Municipal Mihara Culture Hall.

We loved everything: spacious and beautiful bedrooms, excellent food (worth at least one Michelin star) offered by Chef OHIGASHI in parallel of great wines and sake list, 3 five stars private onsen, excellent personalized service, by Micky? and Matsumoto? the international great classy sommelier with a great sense of humour (sorry if i lost your names, please correct me in answer). You really feel more than at home in this unique independent hotel, where the owner has invested heavily to offer the best experience to his guests, in every details and spirit of excellence!

Kawachinagano has some of the nicest backyard mountains with gentle sloping ascends to hike, amazing picturesque sceneries that stretch for miles beyond the horizons and sweet refreshing mountain air that encapsulates the peaceful zen.
The ryokan kaiseki experience is also one-of-a-kind, having some of the freshest produce sourced locally to create unique individual elements that harmonizes overall into a seasonal course.
Scenic trails scattered around the idyllic countryside also provides many avenues with which leisurely strolls can be taken to calm and soothe the busy soul.
Our night at Nanten-En was a truly unique experience and a highlight of our visit to Japan. I loved that the hotel had such a historic background, beautiful location (easily accessed), staff were all so accommodating, interesting and gracious. The room was beautiful with tatami mats and a seating are overlooking an aesthetic and private garden. The dinner was unforgettable and tasty, served in our room by attentive staff breakfast the next day was also very delicious. We also enjoyed the onsen. Altogether highly recommended!
Loved the onsen. The healing quality of the spring waters was exceptional. The bathing facilities were excellent. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Special shout out to Gary, who preparerd us for Koya San and always seemed to show up when we needed English translation. He even helped us with our luggage to the train station. The hotel is in a lovely garden setting and so serene. Breakfast was very good and geared to our diet. 90 meters to the Amami station was super convenient. Don't miss Koya San.
The kaiseki dinner was amazing!! My favorite meal during my three week trip in Japan. Owners were very nice and spoke English well, they described every course during our dinner. Onsen facilities were great! Beautiful out door area. Located RIGHT next to a station so easy to get to. They will hold your luggage in the morning before you check in which is really nice.
The location of the hotel is 2minutes walk from train station. The dinner and the breakfast were delightful. It is a perfect place to stay and take a break from urban cities.
