The location of this hotel is excellent with regards a visit to the Kanazawa Castle and grounds. The Shrine is also opposite and is very impressive. The hotel is not that far from the railway station but a cab is required. We would stay here again.

Huge room! Largest hotel I've ever stayed at before in Japan. Location is decently close to Kanazawa station and there is a 7-Eleven next door. Overall great value for the roomy space where you can actually lay out your luggage and still have lots of room to walk around. Helpful staff and eager to assist.

Close to Kanazawa train station, the building does look a little old, and to be fair the whole hotel does appear dated - but do not be put off by this!! It is wonderfully located and comfortable.
Including breakfast when making the booking is a great idea as it starts off the day perfectly, definitely giving you the energy for all the activities you'll be taking on for the day.
Unfortunately, I did end up getting sick whilst in Kanazawa. Staff were lovely making sure I was okay. Travelling with my father, he was able to bring up some food from breakfast for me (I didn't want to go down to make others sick).

"Kanazawa is an absolutely magical destination, especially in winter. The city is beautifully serene, with its traditional streets dusted with snow, and the iconic Kenrokuen Garden looks like a winter wonderland. The blend of history and nature is perfect for a peaceful getaway. The hospitality in the city is warm, and the sights are stunning—from the samurai districts to the picturesque teahouses.
A short drive away to Shirakawa-go, a must to visit in winter, it is like stepping into a living postcard. This UNESCO World Heritage village, with its iconic gassho-zukuri farmhouses, becomes a true winter wonderland as snow blankets the landscape. The traditional thatched roofs of the houses, sloping steeply to shed the snow, give the village an almost fairy-tale-like atmosphere. The contrast of the white snow against the dark wooden structures creates a breathtaking scene, especially as the village is lit up at night. The quiet, peaceful ambiance, coupled with the snow-covered mountains in the background, makes it feel like a secluded haven from the modern world.
Walking through the village, you can almost feel the history and charm of this centuries-old community. Whether you're exploring the houses, visiting the local museum, or simply soaking in the beauty of the snow-covered surroundings, Shirakawa-go in winter offers a magical experience that's hard to put into words. It's one of those places that feels timeless, and it’s an absolute must-see if you're in Japan during the winter months."
However, I did encounter a small challenge with a few restaurants that seemed hesitant to accommodate non-Japanese speakers. It was a bit of a barrier at times, but thankfully, many places were still very welcoming and tried their best to make the experience enjoyable.
Just be prepared for a little extra effort when it comes to dining out, especially during the New Year period, reservation is a must!

Sightseeing is made very easy with the loop buses that stop at all key touristic sites. The Right Loop worked perfectly, however, the Left Loop bus never arrived, I froze waiting for 45 minutes at the bus stop and eventually took a city bus (which doesn't take suica card, you need to have 250 yens in coins

A lovely city with plenty to see, to do, and to eat. I did a walking tour of the city with a local guide which was excellent. Kanazawa is good gateway to many other regional or rural places or sights. Easily accessed by public transport.

Kanazawa is a quieter city as compared to the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and Osaka. It was our bridge to other parts through our JR pass. During our short stay, we visited Kenroku-en and Kanazawa Castle by using the loop bus. There is lots of good food around and the seafood is especially something to look out for.

Location of hotel is amazing, the station is nearby. The staff was super nice and English was not a problem. Room was huge and had all the things you need, what was strange that they didn't offer pyjamas which is normal to have in each hotel which I visited in Japan. Breakfast was fabulous I had to order it as extra though it was worth it it had Japanese, western kitchens everything that you need. You can find a lot of food places near by. I will book this hotel again if I will come back to Kanazawa.
The room sizes felt above the standard for Japanese hotels. The room as well as the bathroom had plenty of space to put your luggage and the beds were super comfortable as well. Bus stops were only a 1 minute walk away, so getting around Kanazawa was a breeze as well. On top of that, Kanazawa castle was only a 10-15 minute walk away, with the Obama Shire along its route, so the location was ideal!
Beautiful hotel. Tastefully decorated. It was our favourite stay while in Japan. The staff were so lovely. Breakfast was traditional and kept us going for our mornings out walking and sightseeing. The tea and coffee station in the reception area was fabulous. There was nothing we didn't like about Hotel Kanazawa Zoushi!
I cannot rate this hotel highly enough. During our three weeks in Japan this was by far the most spacious and beautifully designed hotel we stayed in. The staff were very helpful and pleasant, the bar served delicious sake and noodles on an evening. The room - wow. Definitely stay here if you are visiting Kanazawa!
Everything was good. The best hotel during my stay in Japan: international food, clean and big room, English speaking staff. I recommend it if you come to Kanazawa.
