It’s gorgeous and located right across the street from the beach. The staff greets you with warm tea, walks you to your room and explains everything. They had a card set out to congratulate us on our honeymoon. They provided tea, coffee, and complimentary beer. It was so beautiful we wanted to stay longer but our itinerary was packed!
Located at the popular Shichirigahama Beach, the Kamakura Prince Hotel features outdoor swimming pool (The 2024 summer pool season has ended), rooms with panoramic ocean views.

Great view of Mt Fuji on the clear days. Inside tip is to walk to the hotel wedding center a short distance from the 7-11 near the station and take the elevator up to the hotel lobby.

A visit to Kamakura is what you make it. If you are here for a day and are in it for the selfies, search for "Top 10 Kamakura" and go to those places. If you want a calm, serene experience, even for a day trip, go anywhere except those places, particularly somewhere 15-minutes or more from a bus stop or Enoden station. Try out the short hiking trails North of the Giant Buddha or to the East of town. Take a morning or sunset walk on Zaimokuza Beach if it's not summer. There are a lot of quiet temples West of JR Kita-Kamakura and East of JR Kamakura and out toward Zushi. Pick one and maybe stop by another along the way: Your favorite temple may end up being the side stop! Don't feel pressured to "see everything": You can see what you didn't get to see the next time you visit. The temples aren't going anywhere. Kamakura is a walking town, but think of the walk as part of the experience. Consider stopping at a bakery or a cafe for an early lunch before the crowds arrive, then visit the temples when it's less busy.
History nerd? Try searching for "Kamakura" plus "yagura", "kiridoshi", or "oldest temple". Honestly, bypass "shrines", since this really is a "temple" town.
Other tips:
Kua Aina - best Hawaiian Hamburger in Japan
Inamuragasaki Onsen - stop by at sunset on a clear day and gaze at Mount Fuji.

The hotel at Ofuna was close enough to thw station to get everywhere in Kamakura we wanted to go. We could easily have spent 3 more days there. It is a beautiful area and there is so much to see. With a good map and some simple directions from staff at the hotel and station we were easily able to get around. Kamakura is full of so much history and beautiful scenery with lots of tourist friendly shops and places to eat.

Hasadera temple is a must see, especially during spring or autumn. In addition we visited Enoshima at dusk. Per end of november they have the whole garden and tower covered with small lights. When the weather allows you can see Mt Fuji in sunset. A hidden gem is Zeniarai Benten shrine. It is a natural spring tucked away between jagged rocks in a little valley. Legend goes that if you wash your money in the spring, it will multiply.

One should check one's room at check-in.
One should check one's room at check-in. Ours was definitely under-equipped: no chairs, no reading light, no handle in bathtub, very limited storage space for clothes, dangerous change in floor level. Otherwise, a very attractive hotel: nice patio and restaurant, beautiful landscaping, etc.

We loved our day in Kamakura!
We loved our day in Kamakura! Our hotel (Kamakura Prince Hotel) overlooked both the sea and Mt Fuji which was incredible. We used the Enoden to get around but mostly walked. We ate lunch by the beach, visited Kotoku-in and even went inside the Buddha (so interesting to see what it looked like inside!), then took a walking trail to Zeniarai Benten shrine which was beautiful. We didn't get to go to Enoshima unfortunately, but had a lovely time aside from that!

A one day trip stay-in. The hotel is located at the back street, not very far from the main street, so it is very quite during the night. There is an inside hot spring you can enjoy after you shower. The room is quite janpanese, with tatami and japanese ukata. Definitely a good place to stay if you want to experience the Japanese culture.
Very comfortable and clean with great service. Located very close to Ofuna station which is one station from Kamakura. We enjoyed the Japanese style breakfast buffet with some western bread options. Good value.
I loved the boutique hotel with a Japanese feel. Friendly bilingual staff, great location only a short straight walk from the train station and the complimentary coffee was delicious!
The beach house is close to Hase station ans also very close to the beach.
The room was of a traditional Japanese kind and the futons were very comfortable.
