I liked having a private open air bath with the view of the mountains and the sounds from the river nearby. All the rooms faced the mountain from what I could tell.

The staff was so lovely and helpful, even though I wasn’t able to speak very much Japanese with them. I ended up extending my stay there because it was as comfortable enough and the location was perfect - very close to Kouroen and Shukugawa station.
