Hill Hotel Sunpia Iga, hotel in Iga

Providing free WiFi, Hill Hotel Sunpia Iga offers rooms in Iga, 45 km from Suzuka Circuit and 49 km from Nara Station.

The breakfast was excellent, as was the dinner we had in the evening. The room was much better than the ones we had so far in Japan, maybe because it had two single beds, with plenty of room in between. The staff was very helpful, and the bonus hot spring very enjoyable.

Stayed here for a one night stopover. Found a nice clean room and very friendly staff. Public bath was available. Room was quiet. Hotel is conveniently located to walk to the Iga castle and Ninja museum. Even the parking was free.

    Loved the city!

Loved the city! I always dreamt of visiting the "Ninja City" to visit all the cultural places there! Had the chance to go to the Akame 48 Waterfalls, Iga-Ueno Castle, the Iga-ryu Ninja Museum, Matsuo Basho's memorial museum, had nice meals in traditional local restaurants such as Tenrakuza Wakaya, and had a great opportunity to visit an amazing antiques shop called Kobijutsuhin Ooyabu Shokodou( 古美術大薮尚古堂), where the store owner showed me swords, spears, armors, pottery, and jitte! Definitely a nice city to visit if you love the Ninja Culture and Japanese History!

The top attractions for Iga are usually Iga-Ueno castle, the ninja house and the ninja museum where you can learn a lot about the daily life of a ninja, their skills, and what they kept and wore. If you're a fan of ninjas in general, of course, Iga is the best place to have an adventure in. I only stayed for a couple of days, and one of those days was spent travelling to Nagoya (via the Ise-Kumano JR Pass), so I wasn't able to look around as much. Still, it was a worthwhile trip and I would probably have stayed longer if I could, maybe even try the onsen. It's one of those rural trips that help your mind be at ease from the daily stress in the city.

While full of the usual modern stores, one could still feel that Iga is an historical castle town. The castle and park around it were both a delight to spend time in. I felt a sense of comfort and pride in the people I met and dealt with during my stay there.
