Really nice stay, comfortable bed and bath, big window which opens wide (I love that being a fan of fresh air), good wifi, very roomy hall outside the room so it doesn't feel claustrophobic like many more modern places. The Japanese breakfast was so healthy and delicious, super cheap too! Free parking in a town centre always a bonus.
Point: 1)At first it seems like there is only one power point (electrical socket) available for use, however in a basket on a shelf there is a multi-socket cable, so that was a relief.
2) There is a fantastic view of the hills beyond the town from the rooftop. (I think maybe not advertised as you have to walk through a staff break area and it's old-style, ie open air and not locked down for maximum safety)

Fantastic design small boutique hotel. We loved our stay there, special mention to the nice family owner and Sono, who takes care of the guests with them. The plus : getting to visit an area which is under the tourism radar

This guesthouse is located in the historical district of Mimitsu (Hyuga), which is a beautiful area. Kei is an amazing host, we talked quite a lot and it made my stay feel more like visiting a friend than anything. I'll be back soon!

Such a lovely family who run this place, warm and welcoming! The food was delicious, the views really nice. The room was small but cosy and it's right next to the road, so a bit loud. But the above mentioned makes up for that. We loved it here!

Facilities were new and in order, there even was a washing machine for use. Able to whip up a small meal for the family right in the room. Parking was just at the doorstep which made it very convenient. The bathroom was huge. Very suitable location for family stay.

Beautiful city with friendly people, the food is amazing (Miyazaki beef, chicken nanban, local fish and local fruits). Traveling around is best done with a bicycle or car.
Best activities are hiking, surfing and eating.

This is a very quiet traditional town that had everything we needed. The beach nearby was lovely (black sand) and the people very friendly. Good for access to surf beached but probably need a rental car if surfing. Very little choice in food but what there was, was delicious. very relaxing few days.

I loved my long-weekend trip to Hyuga.
I loved my long-weekend trip to Hyuga. It's a fantastic place just to surf and it's less crowded. The other surfers were friendly, just a smile is all it takes. It had tons of great food just a drive away. The seafood was something to salivate over. The scenery was serene. It's definitely worth a visit especially if you're into surfing.
